Tons of mature returning talent and a great class coming in. If we wait, we will be in a Texas mess for years. #NowIstheTime #NoMoreLes

You are correct..

1. Salary of the head coach and staff will match any school in the country.
2. Facilities are Top tier.
3. Committed fan base(Can also be a negative but true of ANY major program)
4. No in-state recruiting competition for best per capita recruiting talent in the country.

They are a bit light at LB and the QB situation is an unknown but the right hire can bring in a QB and convert talent to linebacker.

On the surface it seems like a negative thing, but the possible lack of objection and current contract obligations for the OC and somewhat the DC is something that an established HC would find attractive too. That is often a big obstacle.

While I think Miles needs to go, there are hardly any examples of hiring a successful replacement for someone with Miles' track record.

The new coach ends up being less successful than the predecessor far more often than not. To say I'm concerned is putting it mildly.

Hardly. In recent years Texas, USC, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn and other programs with great histories and reputations have been open. LSU is just another one of those, one of 20 or so marquee programs.

We all like to think LSU is the #1 destination for any coach, but the reality is it's only Top 10. Fans have delusions of hiring any new coach, but we'll be in for a shock when we find out not every coach wants to come here.

I think most coaches would be salivating at the chance they have at LSU year 1.

I think LSU can win the natty YEAR 1. Bookmark this frickheads.

lsu is a much better job than usc - better fan support, women, booster money, facilities, cost of living, and culture (most fb coaches are conservative and christian).

only bama, florida, and texas are arguably better jobs than lsu.

The question is: can you risk becoming a Miami or Tennessee? Neither of them thought they would wander in the wilderness for years when they got rid of their coach for not winning MNCs.

Get Les a hot young OC and tell him to stay the hell out of the way would be a better plan. Let the wunderkind bring in the hot QBs, and get rid of the predictable and boring offense. Les is a recruiting beast. The rest can be accomplished with assistants.

Texas and Michigan are much better jobs than LSU and they just changed coaches.
