So I was always a big Gin fan but the past year I've wanted something more interesting to sip on, preferably on its own. For my birthday my sister bought me a fifth of Gentleman Jack and I was very pleased with it. From there I went on to try some different kinds, mainly bourbons. I've found that my favorite cheap bottle has to be Evan Williams without a doubt. Going up on the price scale, my favorite upper shelf was Gentleman Jack, Woodford reserve regular, and Double Oaked was also delicious. Some that I really didn't enjoy were Knob creek, Jack Daniels No. 7, Jim beam, and surprisingly Makers Mark (it's a downvote party now) as well. So my questions, what are some of yall's favorites? How do y'all like it? (Neat, rocks, cold, room temp, etc...) and what are some bourbons you could recommend to me.
Also, I know that this should be in the Food & Drink board but I want Joe 6 Pack's opinion not wanna be Emeril

Forgot about Crown, I do enjoy it but seems like I always end up mixing it. Haven't drank it straight very much

My favorite fifth for $20 is WL Weller.

Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Woodford Double Oak, Blanton’s and richter’s. I like them with two or there cubes of ice. I drink these until I cannot distinguish then have full ice.

I agree with you about Evan Williams. It's a good, low cost, everyday bourbon. My favorite though is Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I prefer it on the rocks.

Buffalo trace, ice, splash of water.

Neat, maybe with a splash of water depending on the Bourbon. In my rotation now is willet and four roses single barrel cask strength.

For everyday neat, Wild Turkey 101.
For a little more, Willett and Breckenridge.

if those are your upper shelf selections, find another store.
For your budget, I would suggest Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare and if you splurge, go with Blantons.

I have tried Crown Apple before at some get together. Wouldn't mind shooting it before a night out but not quite what I'm looking for. I like a good kick and not a lot of sweetness.
I plan on grabbing a bottle for thanksgiving. Another one I'm embarrassed to have not tried yet.

Have you explored "scotch" in any capacity?
Go anywhere that carries "Johnny Walker Blue" and get a couple fingers... It. Will. Change. Your. Life.
I was a vodka to bourbon guy for years... Then I tasted that ambrosia liquor and was sold...
...I'm a blended scotch man now.
(All of you single malt snobs can blow me where the pampers is)

Well there are multiple offerings from wl weller. The special reserve and then the harder to find 12 year, which some refer to as the 'baby pappy'. Picked a 12 year up at dorignacs a few months back for $50
