Just finished a full watch through of Band of Brothers, having only seen an episode here or there. To be honest I wasn't that impressed. The story moved slow and a lot of the characters were rather dull or predictable. I would have loved more as well from the German side but I gather it was strictly about the Airborne guys. Great WW2 piece/documentary type show, but not the great all time TV series some make it out to be. I'm sure I'm in the minority on that.

Frankly as I have told Marciano1 on a few occasions, I enjoyed "Fury" more than Band of Brothers.

They aren't "characters" and it wasn't some fiction that a writer drew up.

You didn't even mention Jimmy Fallon warning them of all the Panzers, Tigers, and Shtukas

If this isn't a troll, I feel sorry for you. Like just total pity. It's unfortunate.

If it is a troll, I also feel sorry for you, but because you are a retard.

The main difference in Band of Brothers and Fury is in reality the characters in Fury were nothing like the soldiers of WWII.

Winters and all the soldiers who helped and advised on BOB were going to walk off the show when the script called for bad language to be used, like they all said you never knew when your time was going to be up and they tried to stay right with God. All the bad language for the most part was taken out of the show.

Winters and most of the men where regular church goers during the time in England and would go to services when they could in the field.

Winters was a track and field team member in college and the show leaves out much on many of the real life actions about his ability to out run all his men.

Fury other than the fire to take out the German defensive line is a waste, the last battle would have been over as soon as 1 German hit the tank with a panzerfaust. Funny they showed many of them in line marching with a PF only to have one shot one much later in the action.

It's a great popcorn miniseries and highly entertaining, but I concur the character development is meh, in fairness they have a huge cast and only 10 episodes each with an action scenes, there just isn't much time.

This is farther than I would be willing to go, but one must always be skeptical that Ambrose will allow "history" to leak into hagiography. He's been shown to be fairly dishonest.

I agree. I would like it more with some zombies or at least have some F-16s bombing everything.

Band of Brothers is a cinematic masterpiece and is the measuring stick against which all other war movies are measured (or would be if it weren't a 10 hour mini series).

Once I finish watching Peaky Blinders, I think I'm going to give Band of Brothers a go. I tried a while back but just wasn't caught up by the first episode or two. But I recently read the memoirs of the father of a friend of mine. He was the most decorated officer of the 82nd Airborne. It renewed my interest in WWII and I think would give me a different perspective on the series.
