that is 100% what he believes

that's why we are hiring recruiters first. the coaching is secondary b/c we have our system and our coaches' efforts are best used in recruiting

I don't recall a lot of those. I recall folks being upset that LSU was man handled and goose egged on the biggest stage in football. I don't recall anyone "shitting on the 2011 SEC championship".

How the frick is that better than Miles' 10 years? It's not

Because of the circumstances in which he did it. Honestly, Saban is partially responsible for 2005 and 2006 as well.

It's so ironic how the only arguments that can be made in defense of Miles are strictly results-based, when the results are far from elite.

people shite on our offensive performance in the actual title game, for sure

it was a "houston we have a problem" moment that reinforced a lot of the fear of JJ being our QB (which wasn't exclusive to negatigers)

Saban left Miles with more QBs (admittedly Jimbo plays a part in this, but he was Saban's OC and Miles was forced by boosters to keep him around) than Miles has been able to develop himself

So do you think Miles should stay? That's the elephant in the room here. Do you think that stretch of 10 years warrants keeping his job for X number of years?

What I'm arguing is that posters like Beefense and I weren't dumbasses for standing by our most successful coach, ever.
That thread Speedy puts up about Miles tenure just goes to show how much he has accomplished while at lsu that no other coach was able to do.
To answer your question, if we lose out Miles should go.
If we win 2 of the next 3 then he deserves one more year. Next year should be sec west title or we need a new direction. Wanting a sec title every 4 years isn't asking too much.

Clock management, playing down to opponents, horrific offenses

Until this past Saturday our offense was one of the most productive offenses in cfb. Florida is a better defense than Arky and we ran all over them.

even after the last 2 Saturdays we are 15th in the country in offensive yards per play.

I also think many are discounting the QB drama. Miles was loyal to Jefferson to a fault. That whole charade was a big fricking deal.

You're joking. There were fire Miles threads before the game was even over. There are numerous posters that have said they wanted miles gone after 1/9/12.

Both qb's were below average. People that still hold on to that and made Lee into some type of folk hero are hilarious.

Fair enough at your first paragraph.

The offensive stats though. I gotta say, Fournette was the best thing that happened to this team and to Les. I get that Les got him, and he deserves credit for that, no doubt. But without having a once in a generation RB, I firmly believe this offense would be no different than recent past.

What's sad is that that was once something that made Miles great. He hired good assistance. It's like he believes in our scheme so much that he feels we Wil impose our will on everyone and it's just not that way anymore.

The reason it's not that way anymore is that he doesn't have the caliber of players he used to have in his first 4 or 5 years here. The longer he's the coach, the worse the players get.

Lee wasn't much better.
Lee was better at passing than JJ bur that gap wasn't as big as the gap between JJ'S running and JLEE'S running.

Not a folk hero, but a better QB than Jefferson, no doubt. He played great up until that Bama game. But anyways...that's for another thread. I don't wanna get on that subject.

the 2011 season and 1/9/12 are 2 very different things

miles' disrespect of lee (and love for JJ) plus quitting in the game are inexcusable. he deserved heat for those in the biggest game of his career

the big nail in the coffin was we lost that game for the exact same shite that he's being crucified for right now

no adjustments. same old shite. no strategy. no attacking. no in-game change.

Well that is patently false considering an e tire team of his players from '09-'11 improved enough to win a conference title and national title game appearance.

Not much better, but when you take into account making a QB change mid season when you're undefeated, and not just undefeated, but killing teams, I think it was a bad move, strategically. LSU kept winning, but the offense didn't look the same IMO.

Can Cam give answer to why the other backs did not get plays called for them?
