and his offense was too conservative (esp with a lead)

That season featured a ton of games where we had to come from behind in the 4th quarter.

If If we lose out Miles needs to go because he has lost this team and we have most coming back.

How do you know he would have made the changes needed?

have you seen what he did at Bama?

he's constantly changing and innovating. it's what saban does. he's proactive and attacks. he looks for opponents and finds weaknesses. he adjusts his schemes. he hires new OCs and tries new things.

miles has the opposite mindset. miles believes he has the perfect system and we just need to perfect it in execution and we will win. that's why we don't change. that's why we have the same issues every year. that's why sometimes it's great and sometimes it's like the past 2 weeks

Who shits on LSUs 2011 conference title? Are you serious? You just made that up to support your argument. Come on man, you're better than this!

Yes I did. But to ignore the fact that he is a different coach there than he was at lsu before he failed in the nfl is rose colored revisionist history by you.

It's entitlement when having a coach with one of the best win % in sec history and the #1 ooc win % in sec history ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.
Since Miles was hired no program has beatenmore ranked teams
Since Miles was hired no program has been ranked in the top 25 more weeks.

AND THIS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.

Do you not understand how stupid our fans look when they say THE BEST 10 YEAR STRETCH EVER isn't good enough?

Miles hired his buddies. Saban didn't give a shite what Kiffin's perception was. He recognized his offensive coaching talent and went and got him. Miles is seemingly loyal to a fault. Hay could be a stretch, but it's still Sunday.

It honestly did not look that way based on his OC hires until 2014. He seemed to have more influence on the offense before then. McElwain was a perfect example.

Are you kidding? Numerous people shite on lsu's 2011 season. Our 2011 season is often used as a reason to fire miles. Poster were saying Miles should be fired before the game was over.

True.

Shows you that SFP would rather defend bama's coach than support his own supposed favorite team

As long as Saban can control his media access, perception may be irrelevant.

So do you think Miles should stay? That's the elephant in the room here. Do you think that stretch of 10 years warrants keeping his job for X number of years?

Does that 10 year stretch out weigh the other obvious deficiencies? Clock management, playing down to opponents, horrific offenses, etc? Because that is what is happening TODAY. The last 10 years were wonderful, but it is not 2007.

You can hold on to your nostalgia for a while, but at the end of the day, his job isn't about even "what have you done for me lately". It's "what are you doing RIGHT NOW".

What's sad is that that was once something that made Miles great. He hired good assistance. It's like he believes in our scheme so much that he feels we Wil impose our will on everyone and it's just not that way anymore.

look at the team now. look at their preparation, their scheme. What's the point in talking about the record 10 years ago. Do you think the current team is meeting their expectations?

you do remember he hired major applewhite at OC, right?

mcelwain installed a lot of new looks, especially single back looks and pistol. they also changed their running attack based on RBs (went less zone with ingram to power/man with trent). that is all mcelwain

It sounds like you and I agree more than it seems. Because I agree with this post. Maybe Miles recognizes this and will make some big changes this offseason. Peveto for sure needs to be replaced. And likely Cam too, unfortunately. But more importantly, Miles needs to recognize his inability to run an offense. He's not an OC. He's a big picture guy. Hopefully he sees this now.
