it's not over but its catching up. after the top 6 teams in the east(CLE, MIA, CHI, ATL, WASH, TOR) there rest are still pretty bad.

My opinion of the East is polar-opposite of this.

The top of the West is painfully better than the top of the East. For the top 5 or so teams in the NBA, only one comes from the East.

When you factor in the remaining teams for both conferences (mediocre teams, up and coming teams, bad teams), I think there is a strong argument that the East is at least equal to the West, and that these Eastern Conference teams have at least as bright, if not brighter futures than their Western Conference counterparts. This should not be surprising, with all of the high draft picks of EC teams (not helping Philly out yet, however).

It's sad that you clearly don't know what a "bad" team is. Start there.

Why does it feel like we see this thread every year and it always turns out the same?

No the East is painfully lagging behind still.

You left out New Orleans and all their injuries out of the OP btw.

Wait so are you saying that it's laughable that SAS is a superior team?

SAS has one of the greatest coaches of all time, is still in the midst of a decades long dynasty, and--although early in the season--has a better record and a 16 point score differential (+ 10 to -6) compared to Houston. And THAT is laughable?

Some scrub teams in the east the last few years look promising. Orlando, Detroit, Milwaukee (already a playoff team) look like they will make a jump in the next couple of years. The Nets look awful though (Rockets lol) New York is not a legit threat, Philly is absolute garbage, and the "contending" teams don't look like real contenders outside of Cleveland. Basically the East has an Elite team, a pretty good team in the Hawks, several playoff teams that won't challenge, and then teams that don't look like complete dogshit like they have the past few years. All of that said, they still have not come close to catching the west. There are not 6-7 absolutely horrible teams like there have been the past few years but there are a lot of average teams over there with no signs of legit contender upside.

Yea this lead them to a first round defeat last year in the playoffs.. To the same team HOU took care of mind you.

i know in the last 5 full NBA seasons there have been teams that make the east playoffs being under .500 Some years more than 1.

Do you think that ends this year?

Season is still young, but sample size is getting bigger and bigger.

Pelicans fans have been going to this well for the past 3 seasons or so. In terms of their "getting healthy" and their soon-to-be WC dominance, I'll believe it when I see it.

Win a couple series and then see what happens in the WCF. That's the blueprint.

The fact the winning the NBA championship this year is not the blueprint for this houston team just goes to show that they are a bunch of losers that lack the heart to be champions.

That's you're evidence? Two 7 game series with her higher seed winning?

Not the CURRENT season where one team got the biggest free agent acquisition? And no, Ty Lawson, while a good acquisition, was not the biggest pick up.

I said ALTHOUGH EARLY.

Putting the records aside a +10.7 to -6 point differential may not be definitive evidence that SAS is superior, but it's enough evidence that calling it laughable just shows your ignorant homerism.

You must be talking about your Pels ,now that's a group of losers there.

D12 - Olympic champion , Eastern conference champion
Harden - Olympic Champion
Ariza - NBA Champion
Brewer - NBA Champion
Tery - NBA Champion

TBH it's harder to find someone on the team who isn't a champion.

8 games. not even 1/10th of the season. Come back in a few more games at least. Or I'm willing to make a wager today that SAS doesn't make it further in the playoffs than HOU. Take your pick.

This doesn't mean much. Just because they are more talented doesn't mean they will be a better TEAM.

That's odd that boom would have such low expectations for a team he said:

No, I was talking about houston. You can see it right there in this quote.

I'm not going to make an actual wager, but I don't believe that Houston will make it further than SAS. So in my opinion, SAS will get as far (if they lose in the same round, it's a wash) or farther than Houston.

JC bro, get lost you're like my nephew that comes try to punch me and I put my hand on his forehead to keep him away and he keeps on punching air. You're trying so hard but just can't land that punch.

HOU has the Championship pedigree. Exactly how many team have won multiple titles in recent memory? There aren't many.

You said Houston "has the best roster in the league on paper."

You said that they would win "60+ games."

I mean just recently when they got to 3-3, you said you expect them to be "15-5 or 14-6."

Maybe you will be proven right, but own up to your statements whether fact or fiction.
