I seal mine every few years and wax them a bit more frequently, but not enough in some places. I get my stuff from the place bought the mix.
Cheng Concrete
They sell some cool diamond sanders as well.

I guess that sink is so damn big it threw off the dimensions to me. Nice.

Question about the concrete sink and countertops...Is the concrete finished in a similar fashion to concrete floors, only with hand held diamond blades, etc?

Depends on how it is poured. If you do a reverse mold in melanine, it does not require alot of finishing.
If you do a pour in place, a good bit of wet sanding is required after troweling, with handheld discs. I'm not sure if they are diamond or not.

The recycled glass stuff is nice, but needs a very contemporary/minimalist setting.

I think there are pretty granite choices out there, but you have to seek them out. When we thought we were going to go with granite, it was because we fell for a slab called White Piracema. The one we loved was on hold for someone else, though, and we had to wait a few months for a new shipment. When it finally arrived, there were not any slabs as pretty as the one we couldn't have. Here's a shot of it:
The prettier ones are just more expensive than the ubiquitous ones.

We're definitely doing butch block on the island but haven't decided yet on the rest. It will not be granite for sure though

black is nice. My parents have black concrete on their outdoor kitchen and love it.
Like anything else, it needs to be n the right setting.

I always had concerns about getting keeping that clean.

Good suggestions and views, will consider everything. Planning to do it in Jan.-Feb., so I have time to research.
Thanks
