Back in the day....late 70's through early 80's....there was no one better as a singer/songwriter. First several albums were excellent (Piano Man, Stranger, 52nd Street, Glass Houses) and were staples for my young folks at that time.
My personal favorite, among many of these records, is "Songs in The Attic" (1980) which was a collection of songs from his lesser known early albums and contains some really good live performances that breathe life into those songs. I like the whole album, but there is a sentimental song called "You're My Home" that is fully reflective of his skills as a singer/songwriter.
