If LSU played Baylor

Is it unrealistic to think that we would dominate time of possession by something like 40 minutes to 20 minutes, possibly more?

I don't think there's any question about it.

We would kill Baylor with the defense they have.
All it would take is a couple of stops of their offense.

My only fear would be that LF7 would score too fast.
Needs to play keep away from them.
I would let Williams pound away 4 yards a pop.

I've had issues with Miles, but I'm glad you're not the coach.

We would score too fast. Their run defense is swiss cheese

Run defense performs well when your QB puts his head down and heads straight for the nearest defensive lineman like KState's QB.
Just as I type this he busts a 22 yard run.

Our offense hikes the ball and literally I mean literally walks down the field daring the defense to touch them.

The man is right. Keeping their offense off the field is the best way to beat them. And LF would shred them and score very quickly.

LF-476 yds
Guice-200 yds
D WILL-110 yds
Brossette-80 yds + kick off return
Playoffs??!! Their Defense is High School-ish

Baylor D would be toast by 4th.
No matter how good their O supposedly is, LSU could match TDs with them.
Only need one stop or force a FG and have ball last 5min of 4th.

So literally don't play your best player and try not to score ... in order to win the game.
Oh my dick, this internets..

350+ total rush yards on that garbage D

lol, y'all act as if our team never has to punt to McNeese, Eastern Michigan, South Carolina, or WKU. We had to punt 4 times in the first half against Western Kentucky.
Baylor would get some stops. Their defense is better than all of those teams. And their offense is a bitch to stop. We would not be favored in that game although we would have a great chance to win it.

Baylor would be in full-time passing mode because they like to run the ball to set up the rest of their attack and LSU's defense would shut down their rushing pretty easily, I think.
So, as the OP correctly stated, one major prong for LSU would be to keep Baylor's offense off the field but they would have to also ensure good pass defense. LSU could go with multiple and regular blitz packages and rattle the freshman QB until he couldn't see straight.
Short version: LSU would beat Baylor - easy.

What's the difference in those teams? Answer, one is relevant, the others are not. The whole South Carolina situation was odd and EMU and WKU, were not ranked or SEC teams. We've played down to those teams but you saw just how quick we can go up on you playing our true offense. We scored 28 in one quarter vs a top 15 (will be top 10 by championship game) defense, then shut the offense down. Baylor is truly awful on defense. Harris goes for 300, Fournette goes for 300, and Williams and Guice go for 100 total. LSU wins something like 56-35.

Baylor has given up at least 24 points 5 times this year (including their last 3 games). Baylor has yet to play a team with any defense. You forget that Baylor is a balanced team that runs as good as they pass, but LSU would shut down the run making them one dimensional. We then just apply pressure to the true freshman Stidham, and control the clock.

Baylor is pretty much designed to get dominated in time of possession tbh
