Davis just can't carry a team like Lebron and others in the past. Also, since when has Gentry been a good head coach? I've always been under the impression that he sucks arse, no?

Better pack it up then. After 4 games they're done.

Darren Erman showing why Mark Jackson was fired for 'not hiring great assistants' per Mr. Lacob of course.

True

I said that they were trying to use him like Durant on Pels talk last week.

According to history, yeah, they kinda are.

I don't blame him for anything. Now if this continues after everyone's back, then that's a different story.

Honestly, I can't envision them making the playoffs at this point even though it is just 4 games into the season.

Is there a stat for this?

Nobody knows their role. Nobody is comfortable in the offense or quite knows what to do.

A read and react / free-flowing offense like they run requires that the players are comfortable with their role, their options, and each other.

Time spent playing together is crucial. They haven't had that time together and it shows.

I don't think any Pelican fan can give up on a team that has Anthony Davis. With that being said, their next four games are against Atlanta, Dallas, Dallas, and Atlanta (2 home, 2 road). Is 1-3 inconceivable for this stretch? That would put them at 1-7.

The stats I last saw were for 0-3 starts, and they weren't very promising. I think maybe only 3 teams in the West have made the playoffs after an 0-3 start in the past 10 years or so.

It's simple really. Pels continued the trend of pro teams hiring the same coaches who have failed in other places. It really is mind boggling.

That's hard to say. We have a ton of injuries: Omer Asik, Tyreke Evans, Quincy Pondexter, Norris Cole, and a limited Jrue Holiday. However, it hasn't looked like guys just flat out being better than our guys. There is some of that, but there are also some issues with schemes. The defense was supposed to be greatly simplified from Monty's system, but we're seeing way more wide open shots and drives than we ever did under Monty.

We'll obviously get better at some point. We can't get any worse. I just hope it doesn't happen too late. At this point, we're already behind the 8-ball.

This is the NBA - coaching isn't the issue. The current roster is terrible when you take injuries into account.

Gotcha...well Houston will definitely still make it. Pels not so much.

It's not THE issue, but it has certainly been AN issue.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. I think that only 1 team in the West has made it in the last 10 years after starting 0-4. Dallas? 2006?

they played the Warriors twice. Steph went for 53 in game 1.

the outlook for the rest of the season is bright.

They don't have to play the W's again for a long time.
They are not going to look great vs San Antonio, Cleveland and the W's.
They are pretty good. 50 win season is within reason. 32 L's will include all the games vs the W's and LeBrons.

50 wins was a stretch even with good health.
