As long as he's happy being the best player on the worst team in the league,

Well...
he's #1 in tackles with 40.
tied for #2 in sacks with 8.5
And that's with him being played a little differently than most players.

I like their idea, but I find it distracting that it keeps disappearing and popping up again.

quote:They do exactly what you are saying when they say "confirmed" or "stands".
Why do they bother to say a call is "confirmed", while other times the call merely "stands"?
The TV guys act like there is a difference. Why? It may make interesting conversation, but it changes nothing.
They should have to read from a card: "After review, there (is or is not) indisputable video evidence that the call on the field was wrong." If there "is" indisputable evidence the call was wrong, then explain the correct call. That is all.
Call is confirmed = The call we made on the field was correct, and it was proven by the video evidence.
Call stands = There is not enough video evidence to prove that our call was wrong. Therefore, it stands.

I disagree with you.
The video is proof. If there isn't proof, then you can't overturn the call, even if you can "assume" from the video that the call was wrong.

re: Why do teams try to center the ball before a final FG attempt?
Posted by Domino Carver on 11/7/15 at 2:50 pm
They usually ask kickers where they want the ball.
I'm sure the kicker knows where he wants to kick from better than anyone.

re: too many sad stories on College Gameday

Yeah, I'm not a fan of them either. It bums me out hearing those sad stories.
These stories make you reflect on life... and there is certainly a time and place for that.
But when on Saturday I turn on college football, I'm on a different wavelength. I want to get jacked up watching football and enjoy myself. Not think about the tough realities of the world at that moment.

Got into the paint again, gonna get free throws.

They got AD an open mid-range jumper, and next play they got into the paint to collapse the defense and kick it out for an open 3.
Points both times.
Basketball is a simple game. Get AD open shots and attack the paint.

re: What's up with the Memphis Grizzlies?

Coaching change or not, there are rival executives out there who believe that the Grizzlies will ultimately be forced to look hard at trading Mayor of Memphis, Zach Randolph, if they want to commission a serious shake-up that leads to a roster infusion of youth and athleticism. As shocking to the system as that would be for many Memphians, Randolph is the player on the roster most likely to fetch a difference-maker in return.

quote:Now that's an actual explanation.
Nothing vague about that. The Grizzlies play one of the most unique ways in the NBA. There is a reason their Net rating is always going against what the numbers would suggest. They "Grind" games out. They play a shite ton of close basketball games and rarely ever blow anyone out.
They have to dominate the other team in paint points, slow down the pace, limit turnovers, play great defense, get easy baskets off of turnovers, and just try to beat up other teams.
They just aren't doing a lot of those things well right now hence being unable to make up for their lack of firepower offensively.
Gasol has looked a step slow. He has had stretches where he takes over a game, but he hasn't really been able to sustain. His defense is nowhere near where it should be.
What you said before was very vague. That's why you had to go into detail like you just did.

Things I hate about Cleveland's uniforms:
It says "Browns" down the side of the leg.
The drop shadow behind the numbers.
The brown facemask. Looked better when it was grey.
I like only the white pants with the Brown uniform. All brown I don't like.
Other than that, I like them.

quote:If it's just lack of effort, that's strange. Grizzlies are known for being a scrappy team that plays with effort. And they've been doing it for years.
Or rather a severe lack of it.
They simply aren't playing. As to why? I have no idea. But they aren't playing. Something's going on.
I mean, a lack of effort from the Grizz might result in losses... but like you said there must be something going on because the got beat bad in half of their games. And that's just not like them.
re: What's up with the Memphis Grizzlies?

quote:Your reasons were: They aren't doing things they usually do, and Gasol isn't in shape.
I gave you some. You ignored them to post some bull shite that really had nothing to with why those teams are struggling.
Those are the most vague answers I've ever heard.
quote:Sometimes it's not an issue, but sometimes it is. And I'm not saying that is for sure the reason the Thunder aren't doing great... I'm saying there are at least things like this to look at that could possibly explain the struggles, unlike the Grizzlies who didn't make any major changes to the team.
100's of cases of this never being an issue
quote:Harden did suck, but it goes beyond just him sucking. There are reasons that led to him sucking, other than just not shooting well. Changes in the offense also plays a part. He's playing more off the ball. There is a learning curve there that he's going through. And the defense has struggled with the addition of Lawson, injured PF's (they have played SF's at the 4 and got badly out-rebounded or played Harrell, who can't shoot, at the 4 and killed the spacing), and Dwight Howard has missed 2 games already. So there are certainly things to look to that can explain the struggles.
No Harden sucked arse in their first few games, so the Rockets sucked arse.
Just like Gasol has sucked and the Grizz have sucked at times this season.
And you seem upset. I'm not trying to troll or even bring other teams into the mix. I'm just confused at the Grizzlies struggles. I mean, it's one thing to just lose... it's another to get blown out by 19, 30, and 50 points in 6 games.

quote:The Thunder have a new coach and had to learn a new system. They also haven't really played with a healthy roster + Kanter until this year. So it's understandable they would have some growing to do.
The Thunder have lost 3 straight, the Rockets lost their first 3 games by like 20 points in each of them, and have the Pels won a game yet? It is November, WAYYY to early to act like the sky is falling on a team who is .500 and two of those losses came to the two teams that were in the finals last year.
With the Rockets, they added a new ball-dominant PG to the mix, plus have injuries to their two PF's and haven't had a healthy roster to practice together during the preseason. So it's also understandable that they would have some growing to do.
But the Grizzlies don't have those kinds of issues. And it's one thing to lose to good teams... it's another to get blown out. I'm just looking for answers.

they look old as shite
re: What's up with the Memphis Grizzlies?
Posted by Domino Carver on 11/6/15 at 12:08 pm
Yes but I know what's wrong with the Rockets... a new ball-dominant starter being added to the team will have growing pains, they have no PF right now (both are hurt), and they had little practice time this preseason due to injuries.
As an NBA fan, I am confused with the Grizzlies because I don't see any circumstances (like with the Rockets) that should cause a drop off.
