You can roll out of bed and sign a top ten class at Georgia their recruiting ground is so good. Just sign 75 percent of the top 20in georgia cherry pick 10 more

And yet we've still beaten them 4/6 games in the past 10 years.

You're not thinking about the big picture. At UGA, it is easier to be consistently really good and it is easier to compete for the national title. Because in the end, it is easier to get elite talent regularly.

It is not a slight to USC as a school or program. It is the reality of the respective talent pipelines.

If UGA is so good, why haven't they been relavent in 30 plus years? Why do they hire mediocre to bad coaches like Donan and Goff. Why does Florida dominate them? So what if recruits are born in Atlanta? They can't even lock down their borders.

You answered your own question. Why was LSU a sleeping giant for so many years despite Louisiana's elite talent? Same reason. Saban changed all that.

Georgia will never be locked down IMO. I think it's a much different situation than we when LSU was letting players leave the state.

1. Lots of transplants in talent rich Atlanta who didn't grow up UGA
2. There are big time programs sitting right on the border

And then there's Auburn, too.

You have the poors comparatively..no IPF

I’ve seen Carolinas and I’ve seen UGA’s renderings, no comparison at all. UGA is going to challenge Tennessee as the premier state of the art IPF.

we recruit Georgia, NC, SC, PA, NJ, FL

Yes you recruit those states, but not very effectively. On the other hand, UGA seems to get a pick of the litter quite often. State of GA > State of SC in terms of talent. Outside of Rock Hill, the state of SC doesn’t produce great football players on a consistent basis.

We've also whipped your arse 4 out of the last 6 games

What does this have to do with being a more prestigious school? SCAR has also beat Clemson a lot in the last 6 years, but Clemson owns that state. WOuldn’t you agree that Clemson is more of a destination?

The stadium still sits in the middle of nowhere. I went to the SCAR/Vandy game. It’s not a college town, more of an old industrial park. Not a knock, just the truth. Just because you plant palm trees out front doesn’t overshadow the lack of a true college football atmosphere. Sorry ma’am

For the record, I don’t dislike SCAR at all. I have a lot of close friends whop attended SCAR and are passionate about the Cocks. It’s the blind fans who equate 4 good years to true blue bloods of the sport. SCAR is not UGA. SCAR is Tennessee, SCAR is not Florida. SCAR is not Clemson. Just because you’ve had recent success doesn’t erase 100 years of inept football.

I believe it is time for Richt to go. He's the kind of coach you want your high school son to play for. Someone who has your best interest at heart and wants to see you succeed both on and off the field. Richt likes to build character players, which would make him an AMAZING HS coach and it wouldn't be as stressful.

It seems that year after year, Georgia finishes in the top 10 for recruiting, yet they struggle to remain in the top 10 at seasons end in the rankings. They need to find a way to put all of the talent they recruit on the field and produce a winning product. Move outside of just the state of Georgia as far as recruiting goes, and start dipping into the other Southern states. I understand that the state of Georgia has very elite talent, but why limit 80% of your search to just there?

It's time for Georgia to make the change.

If UGA does come open, it's the best available job in the country and that includes USCw (and, obviously, USCe).

Other jobs may come open to change that, but UGA is better than VT, Miami, USC, USCe, UCF, etc.

I'd be curious to hear why you think UGA is a better job than USCw. The right guy at USCw will lock that state down, plus that program has a lot more historical (and even more recent) prestige.

Again, only a blind homer would say that South Carolina is a more desirable coaching destination than Athens. The entire premise you make is laughable. There is virtually zero overlap between the type of coach USC (the real one) would hire and Georgia's likely pick. Southern Cal has a totally different culture, and their ideal HC probably wouldn't be interested in UGA, and vice versa. This is why I say that should the HC job in Athens become available, it would be 1b to USC.

The IPF which breaks ground in January is going to be the marquee facility in all of the SEC and likely top 3 in CFB as a whole. It'll probably cost more than W-B Stadium as a whole.

Hell, most fans couldn't tell you a single thing about South Carolina football in between George Rogers and Steve Spurrier, let alone anyone not directly following the program.
