Wtf is he even talking about?

He had 20/14/10 and it's his fault they lost? Wtf?
He's the reason they were ever even in the game.

A player's performance in the last few minutes is the sole determining factor in regards to his contribution?

When you are trying to proclaim him the best Center in basketball, yes.

No one is saying he didn't have a great game.

Just that if you take a guy out, because he can cost you games down the stretch with some aspect of his play-- whether that be defensively or from the FT line--- where all other factors aren't able to outweigh that handicap-- then it is a serious knock on any claim that he's the best at his position in basketball.

Well that's a complete different argument than "the majority of loss is on Whiteside" which is a ridiculous argument.

No, not well said. He played 34 minutes for his team at a ridiculously high level. Shaq couldn't shoot free throws worth a shite either. Its a small part of the game.

If Shaq shot free throws at a 75% clip for his career, he would have 2 more points per game his best years. Whiteside would score 1 extra point a game on the season if he were a 75% shooter. 1 point.

No one has said he is the best center in basketball.

He's damn good though. Top 5 easily and more than likely top 3

Easily top 3. He's young, healthy and getting better along with having an Andre Drummond or Dwight Howard frame.

When he can go 25% of a season without a major temper tantrum.

I stand by everything I have said about him. He's talented, but not top 5.

I like Whiteside and respect the Heat, but he is like Cousins in this regard.

The Heat are built around Wade Dragic and Bosh. They are going to want to push the pace this season.

Until he does it consistently (for a season), that's exactly what he is. This isn't a revelation. He is still largely unproven. He doesn't even play 30 minutes a game. I've said he is talented. What else do you want?

do you think he is playing like a really poor man's Deandre Jordan right now?

29.9 mpg lol. Jordan plays 31.

He's started 42 games and has averaged

14.2 PPG
11.8 RPG
3.0 BLK
61% fg

That's a half of a season worth of games baw.

well you've continually dogged him. Don't act like you haven't. You're admitting he is talented now because you really have no choice. Pretty convenient
