Looking at switching to Regions. What are folks opinions on them?

Left Regions about 2 years ago. Moved to Bryant. Good service, good mobile app and internet banking.

I liked it enough I moved my business accounts to them from Wells Fargo.

I have no complaints...

I don't know what's around you, but credit unions, Whitney and Iberia have been most excellent to me.

Regions is fine if that's the kind of bank you need. It's no different than BBVA, Wells Fargo, or whatever big banks are in your town.

A credit union is more useful for most people. I prefer Avadian.

If you want to earn interest, find a small local bank with a Kasasa account. (Don't know which ones are in Tuscaloosa)

I also recommend Capital One 360. I had an internet only ING account, until Cap One bought them. I like it for most things.

I've been with regions for 13 years and don't really care for them. Probably a lot better out there, but too much of a hassle for me to pick everything up and move and also change all my auto-pay shite.

I wouldn't recommend them.

Regions is so bad. Left them after a decade of incompetence and bizarre, random fees I would constantly fight.

Bank with Ally now. No ATM fees, decent interest rate with interest checking, great app, and GREAT customer service.

Its been awesome and I recommend them to everyone.

This! I have been banking with Ally for 5 years now and I can't say enough good things about them. Also, there is no fee for checking accounts.

Regions

Try Iberia Bank or Synovous or a credit union.

+1

I had a regions account so I decided to use them for a new mortgage.
The process went on and on and they told be I didn't qualify from a past divorce issue. I paid a credit company and they claim I was good. It turned out Regions couldn't write some types of loans because the failed to maintain the requirements of the FHA. I got the loan 15 days later with another bank.

don't like the 0.0025% monthly moving of your money into the "Houndstooth Capstone Trust for SEC Officials"?

I use a credit union. It doesn't have an app for check deposits, has an antiquated online banking website that works just about as well at the BR Water website (if you've ever seen that joke of a site), and closes before I'm off work/opens after I get to work.

The little bit I actually do with my money at this point in my life has me considering a big name bank. I don't overdraw or anything that would make a big bank less desirable. Don't have loans. I ONLY use credit cards for everything and then pay them off twice a month, so actual cash money/debit is never touched. I could shred my debit card if I wanted to.

Shared Branching

If you ever travel, you may want to make sure your new credit union has shared branching.

Im in the same boat as you with Regions. Been with them since they were Union Planters or whatever they are but to much of a hassle to switch over. I
