Because his stats from the first 2 game logs add up to his season totals that they claim for 6 games.

Except that they dont

I assumed he played 2 games then got hurt early in the 3rd. Either way it was clear he didn't play in most of the games just going off the 2 faked that make up 98% of his total stats

Assuming your game log stats aren't "garbage"

Like Deion Jones?
More like Thomas Dunson. He was that level of useless on defense.

If Garrettt had any possibility of contributing to an
SEC defense don't you think that John Chavis, who desperately needs linebackers, would give him a shot at Texas A&M? Brick Haley saw him for a year as well, has Garrett merited any attention from Texas? Experienced coaches familiar with Garrett want nothing to do with him. Why might that be?

Boo ya! Sound words that of course will be stricken down! But you already knew that. lol

Kid may nave been all big ten by now if he had decided to stay up north and avoid the climate adjustment that caused him serious problems. Who knows! Wish him well, I thank him for comin to LSU.

How can the highschool recruiting world screw up the ratings of a player so bad?

Ryan Leaf. It's not just high school gurus that make bad analysis.

With regards to McConathy, he was a good TE for West Monroe before he was switched to LB. I've always believed that he should have stuck it out there. But West Monroe always ran the ball and passed occasionally, so he made the switch to linebacker to receive more attention. And it worked, he was highly recruited and regarded as a high school lb. I could have envisioned him as a Gronkowski type TE though.

I think both he and his father had some serious ego issues, and thought they were much better than they actually were.

It's the West Monroe way. Ego is strong in that school.

He should have told his old man to pipe down and just played football. Saban came on and could have utilized him. Tepper....ha.

I remember LSU having the topped rank defense in the SEC, DC left, Dinardo hired Tepper. We had almost the entire defense coming back. Tepper announces he's going to run a completely different defensive scheme, despite our top ranking the year before.

The rest, they say, is history.

And I remember the interview and quotes from McConnathy dad in the newspaper. He decided to call out the coaching staff for not naming his kid a starter, thinking it would force their hand. He blasted them in the paper.

Yea he was definitely Super dad in the media, and it made his son look like a quitter. From that same team and class, Brad Smalling didn't live up to his hype either. Those West Monroe teams were so loaded, they all made each other look great. I'll say it again...Carl Reese going to Texas was the death knell for Gerry at LSU. What. Could. Have. Been ....

....came true a short time later when we won the SEC in Saban ' s second year with a team full of Dinardo guys.

West Monroe was loaded back in the day. Catholic High could never get past them or Evangel in the state playoffs.

After his JC year, he could have gone anywhere he wanted. Don't you find it odd that the guy who recruited him (Chavis) didn't give him another look this time around?

Nothing seems odd to me given that Chavis was courting the Aggies.

This is what baffles me? Not only does he go to a non-P5 school, he chooses a school that won't field a team until 2017. Why doesn't he want to play this year? His thought process is out there....

Yes they were. Luckily for us, Bradie James became the linebacker we all thought McConathy would be.... and then some. West Monroe high school has actually been very kind to LSU.

I think he just got down here and enjoyed to much of the night life.

I loved his high school tape BTW. A very sure tackler with some of the best lateral speed around for an LB. He could also lay a lick. I wish he would have did all he could to play here.
