They are the Texas aTm of the ACC

All hat, no cattle. I will say though, unlike aTm, they have a good coach.

You mean the ND team that beat LSU in the bowl game last year when ND had something like 13 starters out with injury? They impressed me last year in that game and controlled the trenches. I don't think this group of ND players is overrated.

Last year has nothing to do with this year. Notre Dame has beaten one ranked team - Georgia Tech. They have proven nothing.

They only have 1 ranked team left on their schedule. They should not be allowed to be in contention for the playoffs when only playing 2 ranked teams. We will end up playing 7, for comparison.

Only thing that matters is end of season rankings and I can guarantee LSU won't have played 7 teams in the top 25.

They beat ND playing with their backup QB. Woo hoo

Notre Dame with their backup is better than Florida with their backup.

LSUs roster is not relatively the same at all.

Impact freshman, a new QB, a new defensive coaching staff, and a transcendent player that made a leap this year

Yes. Doesn't mean they'll win the championship though.

Not even close for LSU at all. Very different team from last year.

Neither was ND. I figured they were worse but I was unfortunately quite wrong. LSU is good this year. So is ND.

If Clemson is not for real, then who is?
Baylor? No defense.
OSU? Yes
LSU? Yes
TCU? Have not been impressed.
Bama? Probably but already have 1 loss and struggled against a mediocre Tenn.
Michigan St? Have not been impressed
Stanford? Bad loss to NW
ND? Probably but have a lot of injuries again
Iowa? No

Even with all that flowery language (and this is without me commenting on the fact that your new Defensive Coordinator wouldn't be allowed to work for free on Clemson's staff right now if he offered to), you can't deny the fact that ND dominated the trenches against LSU. They pushed you around like you were Vandy.

Then Clemson went up against that same team and dominated upfront. You can't deny that this team looks different at the LOS than typical Clemson teams. We still have the same skill players but now we don't have the crutch upfront. We also have arguably the best QB in the nation (it's a horribly weak QB year but still, Watson is getting better every game).

We could do the "are they for real" for any team. Bama lost at home to a team with two losses. LSU struggled against one of the worst teams in the lowly ACC and hasn't hit the meat of their schedule yet. Michigan St somehow survived Michigan but has been unimpressive outside of that. Ohio St hasn't done anything against anyone although the Barrett promotion will turn around their season IMO. Who the frick knows how TCU is still undefeated?

It will all work itself out.

Outside of a win over Florida, what has LSU done to show they're for real? So the statement that Notre Dame (Clemson's lone top win) is better when they played Clemson than Florida (LSU's lone top win) was when LSU played them would lead me to wonder why this thread is being asked about Clemson and not LSU.
