re: The amount of Fat People in the South/Louisiana astonishes me

It amazes me how the mentality for so many is just "buy bigger pants" as opposed to "perhaps I should do something about this". For every person that is disgustingly fat, there was a point where they were just kind of fat, yet they ignored it and kept on with their bad and lazy habits.

I don't care how ridiculous you sound, this made me laugh....

With that comes the knowledge that I'm going to have to pay for your next bypass and knee replacement
so if you are poor and skinny, or in great shape. Does that mean I have to pay for your bypass or stents?

Yeah sure it'd be great to weigh 230, but what fun would that be?
Well, let's see- you could be out hiking through the Pacific Northwest and scaling mountains and go on long bike rides and go kayaking and rough-housing with your kids and/or dogs in the backyard and playing basketball/football and enjoy having a girl 10 years younger than you flirting with you in the checkout stand.
OR...you can be miserable and sweaty and die younger than you should and look like a slob and have everyone on the airplane praying to God that you aren't the one with the seat next to them.

I think we were the fattest city in America. Which is pretty surprising when you consider most of the food here sucks.

Hope you're happy dying 20 years sooner than the rest of us.
Ah, once I am dead I am not going to gaf anyway. My dad is in poor health. He didn't take care of himself. He's in his 70's. Both of his parents died in their 50's. I am pretty pumped up about my longevity to be honest.

People are thinner in NY, PA, or the west coast....but they also smoke like chimneys. Seems like one compulsive behavior or another.

That is because our food is so much better down here. Every time I go up north I almost starve. No gravy!

We should just pay taxes based on BMI

Life is not a mountain dew commercial. Some of us have jobs and family obligations. Obesity is just part of the territory of being a well rounded adult.

That's for damn sure. South Louisiana food is amazing.

Poncho, you should be ashamed. Fat shaming and the slurs that come with it, should be on the level of racists using the N word. It is hateful and hurtful to the husky people of the world. YOU'RE NOT HELPING.
Educate yourself. Obesity is a disease just like alcoholism and other addiction. It isn't a choice. You can't just "stop" if you want to, it isn't that easy or simple.

If you're in great shape or skinny, your odds of having a bypass, diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, joint replacement, etc. are dramatically lower than they are for the morbidly obese. Seven of the top ten diseases are weight-related.

You can't be serious. The food options are really no different. Unless you're actually eating "southern food" for basically every meal, in which case, you might have some problems.

Trust me- every morbidly obese person hates themselves and the way they look- especially the women. They know they're disgusting, sweaty ham beasts.

I got kicked out of a restaurant in NY because they refused to put gravy in my Coke.
Like, excuse me, but I like to have a little flavor in my drink. It's called a Super Soda Supreme, idiots.
