Looks like a real geologist, particularly I he taught at CSM.

Wonder what the "we're gonna run out of oil" crowd thinks of all these new finds?
The Bush/Cheney weather machine obviously was reformatted to work underground.
Obviously....

Do you really think a new oil discovery means that we now have an infinite amount of the resource?
is that what I posted?
no , it isn't. Try to comprehend what is written instead of inferring what you want to read. That we will run out may be "undeniable" to some, but the when is very debateable. Moreover, since we don't know how much is actually there, how can we be so sure we will run out?

You mean BP?
What do they know about oil anyways?

Vast oil reserves have been discovered in Israel that could transform the country into world energy power and change the face of the Middle East for years to come.
Afek Oil and Gas, an Israeli subsidiary of the U.S. company Genie Energy, said the breakthrough came in the Golan Heights, near the border with Syria.
Yuval Bartov, the firm's chief geologist, said there was 'enormous excitement' about the immense wealth it could bring to the Jewish state, which has long yearned for its own resource of 'black gold'.
Imagine that...

Good - Islam is just the worst. The absolute worst.
Will be great to have progressive, liberal Israel leading the way both financially and socially for the next millennium in the ME.

The Israelis might have perfected a drilling technique called "stealing"?

Why would Allah allow this?

Genie Confirms Find But Offers Some Big Buts
Translation: This could be worth butkus. We just don't know. Just cuz there is oil there, even in a thick deposit, does not mean you can make money getting it out.
Translation. We found a sweet spot. It could be tiny or it could be big. We just don't know. And until we know, we are not going to say much.
Translation: We either did not get core samples yet or we ain't though analyzing them. We are going off a log, and it is damned hard to tell real perm and porosity from a log when it comes to a shale.

The Company does not yet have sufficient evidence to determine whether this or any part of the resource can be technically or economically produced. The resource does not constitute proved, probable or possible reserves.

"In term of quantity, our log results indicate that this could be a significant find if analogous conditions are present over a significant portion of the license area. We are now working diligently to determine the production costs and total quantity of the resource."

You mean like your interpretation of the "we're going to run out of oil people?" Try to comprehend what people mean instead of constructing a strawman fallacy to argue against. You compared the time line of running out of oil to the sun burning out.

Run out of oil/not run out of oil. Who cares? That misses the interesting story.
A geologist either went rogue or was planted to leak partial -- and somewhat misleading -- info about an oil find. The stock zoomed. Someone made a killing on it. There is intrigue afoot here. That is the real story.

Why do you even think that?

well it seems no one really knows when either is going to happen, correct? scientist can tell us that its going to happen (as far as they know) but the timeline changes. Much like many of the catastrophes that were predicted years ago and have yet to take place. So on the one hand, oil is finite. but on the other, we continue to find more oil "we didn't' know was there". So if we keep finding oil "we didnt know was there", how do we know its finite?
