LSU Wide Receivers

The problems in the passing game should be put on the receivers, not the QB. For all the hype and talk the receivers got before the season not one of them has stepped up and shown they are great or even good. When you watch the film on these guys none of them own the ball when its in the air. Several flat out drops, and balls that great receivers would go and get, these guys just don't even try. I'm not saying Harris is a great QB, but if you look at his throws and compare them to other good QB's in college football he is as good or better than most. Go back and watch the film and you will see the receivers need to do better at going after the ball, catching the ball, and getting separation.

I think Johnson's drop may have just been freshman jitters. I think the others are due to what Coach Miles referred to in his post game press conference. There are a few guys that know they are going to start/play no matter what, and perhaps now they are taking those snaps for granted.

Receivers are told to run wrong routes. Why no slants, down in outs, 10 yard curls or the bubble screen?
Coaches fault all they want to run is the 9 route

Has nothing to do with them dropping the damn ball when BH throws a perfect pass! Regardless of the route if the WR gets his hands on the ball he should catch it, especially the WRs were talking about - they are supposed to be GREAT but they look very average so far.

They need to have the want to catch the ball.

Harris' numbers end up looking ok if the drops become catches. He would have been close to 200 yds and 2TDs.
However, he also needs to make sure he isn't deciding where he is going before the play starts as LF7 was doing jumping jacks on the one play.

There's a decent chance Tony Ball is a terrible coach

I know that when TQ dropped a couple he was yanked off the field...don't see that with TD and MD? Wonder why that is. I know CLM's is not very tolerant when it comes to fumbles, interceptions and dropped balls.

Watching the game from up high all I could think was if this kid had Jarvis and Odell he would be atleast 3rd team SEC. Trav in just flat out quit running on a number of routes, and that's the only reason the db was even close enough to commit. On the fade route where Harris "overthrow" him, it was a pylon pass had Travin ran to the endzone and looked for the ball that's a TD, instead he looks up at the 5 and makes horrible adjustment.

Trav and Chi too comfortable...

i agree...in the Syracuse game...minus the throws he threw away or got batted down the rest hit the WR hands...The EM game he had a few throws he could of done better with but with any effort from the receivers they were still catch-able. He def isnt getting any help from the WR this year...much like Jennings didnt get any last year...they are missing the pitch and catch wide open passes as well

LOL! Running a different route is not going to make them haul the ball on when it hits their hands brah. There are no excuses for most of the balls that were missed in the EM game. They are wide receivers and their MAIN focus should be catching. Simple

The only player that attacks the ball is Jeter. The wr play has been down rt pathetic.

Go back and watch the film and you will see the receivers need to do better at going after the ball,
If they don't BH will subconsciously question making the throw due to lack of confidence in making a completion.

man will you people shut the frick up. always something different to bitch about. The receivers are fine. They don't get the ball enough their way to complain about. LSU's passing attack is non existent so for.
