Things (food and drink) you wish they still sold and why you wish they did

The old Orange Crush in the brown bottle - it was pale yellow - not orange and had orange pulp in the drink. Sold in the 50's and has been gone for many years.
The old Nu-Grape
Here
Like brown bottle orange crush, Nu-grape had grape pulp in the drink.
There was a beer joint in Jackson called the Hickory House. They had a steak finger basket (fries, fingers and butter toasted HB bun) that was to die for. It was on West Capitol Street across from Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Had a gravel lot you could pull into and flash your headlights to signal Betty that you were ready to order. They had the best cold beer in Jackson too. Owners got old and sold out and the place soon closed.
Shady Rest Beer Joint, off Boling Street under the overhead bridge where West Capitol turned into Clinton Blvd. Same gravel lot and order system to allow you to stay in your car. Incredible Burger.
Canteen at Air Force Base Basket Ball Gym on Old Air base at Hawkins Field in Jackson. It closed (Maybe fell in) in mid 1950's. I still remember shooting Baskets and eating Bayou Burgers there. Tonight Show Host Johnny Carson was stationed at Hawkins field during WWII and probably used that Gym and Canteen.
Chuck's Dairy Bar in Clinton. Great Shakes, Burgers, Fries, and all your friends were there. Long gone years back.
Different times from today back then.
Oh - one more 10 cent Krystal burgers back in the 50s and early 60s. Just exactly like the ($0.70) Krystals of today. My mom says they were 5 cents a piece during WWII.
What you got?

Fast track in Baton Rouge. I was young and it was awesome.

Crawfish fat when you buy a pound of LA tails at the grocery store.

A & W Rootbeer Driveins.
When I was a kid, Howard Johnsons had restaurants and would feature all you could eat fried clam strips. I polished them off like Homer Simpson.
Smoked Chubs. It's not that they aren't sold anymore, it's that the Great Lakes no longer supply them. We used to drive up to Port Washington to Smith Brothers and grab a large box of those gems.
Kids cereals that still contain tons of sugar, but have removed sugar from their name in order to not sound as unhealthy. Not that I eat them, but I thought it was disappointing and cowardly of them to change away from Super Sugar Crisp, Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, etc.

the halloween sugar cookies with the images on them in the tube so you could cut them yourself and decide how thin or thick you wanted them to be.

Cinnamon and peppermint Nerds (I think they called them Hot n Cold). Sounds like they wouldn't be that great, but they were fantastic.

Kreemo root beer from my childhood, just to see if it was really delicious or if I just think it was.

Red label Barq's root beer. A cold bottle of that and some Pastime pizza were a ritual for my dad and I before lsu basketball games as a kid.
