I'm not a fan of the unwritten rule stuff, but running out grounders doesn't really fall into that category does it. Run hard until the play is over in case there is an error or a bobble.

Papelbon is pissed off because he's washed up and Harper is the king in Washington. What a bitch.

Well it was a fly out and he ran to the bag. What more could Harper have done to not deserve the choke out?

This thread is a fricking joke and shows how many people don't watch MLB. Harper gives more effort than the rest of MLB.

Except when he doesn't feel like it? Or his vagina is bleeding?

I dont think he deserved a choke out.

I just saw the clips in the op, so maybe he did. I would think pap wouldn't say something unless he dogged it down the line, but I'm probably foolish for giving pap that much credit.

People hating on Harper here are just pathetic. He didn't run the grounder out. Well, seeing as it was a fly ball to shallow left center, it goes to show you that some people will just take any opportunity without the facts and run with it. Harper has been talked about for playing too hard and now not hard enough. Which is it? He is the absolute best player in baseball this year. That is why people hate

Don't act like Harper not running out balls is something new.

He was sat down for at least a game last year for not running one out and was called out by Williams a month or so ago for not doing it.

He is well known for this shite

Harper is becoming or is the face of Washington. Paps should have kept his mouth shut and spoke to him more reasonably. You don't publicly humiliate the player who has dominated the entire NL. Paps was wrong and he and Harper are both assholes.

Harper must have made a racial slur. Doesn't that usually get this type of behavior excused?

Way out of line for Pap. That's a coaches job or a mentor. Not a washed up pitcher.

I never said he wasn't good. He's just a smug, cocky little shite who's parents should have whipped his arse years ago but they failed.

Based on what? Not running out a pop out due to frustration?

Sure, he had some moments as a minor leaguer, but I'd love to see how your blue collar arse would've handled that much fame and money at your age now, let alone at 17-18.

Yep. Bryce didn't think Paps was trashy enough to fricking fight him. Bryce had very poor leverage being at the bottom of the dugout while papelshit was on the steps.
