Football teams? It's hilarious at this point.

According to this board, lsu is the only team that gets penalties and looks sloppy in games. Ignoring the fact of an 11 am start on the road coming off a big win at home.

We are three games in to the season. Highly ranked and everything still to play for but the negative Nancy's on this board continue to bitch and complain.

Can someone please point me to the other college teams that never struggle or have a sloppy game? I'm sure I'll get zero response.

During his post-game press conference, Coach Les Miles complained about the sloppy play and too many penalties. Is he a "negative Nancy" too? Or does he just want to see the team play up to its potential like all LSU fans?

Most fans watch their team through a completely different lens, especially the negative ones. You don't watch the other games as closely, you're flipping channels to catch other games and you're not emotionally wrapped up in every play.

The coach haters take it to the limit though, and LSU may lead the country in that category.

Like they say; when you're a fan, you miss half the game.

Do you exist to start threads and constantly complain about the LSU fans?

We get it. You are a great fan. The best.

We were sloppy. Does this mean well be that sloppy every game. Hell no. Well be fine. How many on this board would have said we would have started 3-0 (4-0)? Not many. We are in perfect position and we will be fine everyone relax.

Yes they do.

Notice how everyone ignore that Ole Miss squeaker last night.

Earlier in the day, Ole Miss would rape LSU.

Later on, bring it up on the board.....>crickets <

It's a valid point to say that fans take their own team's inadequacies and magnify them.

It's also a valid point for fans to complain about things that have gone unfixed for half a decade or more and appear to be a reflection of one person who's been in charge all that time and who appears to either be unable or unwilling to change his methods in order to get a better result, which is the mark of a great leader.

And before you blame it on other coaches and players, these same problems have existed throughout 4 different OC's and DC's, and literally hundreds of players who have gone through the system. Pointing that out doesn't make us bad fans just like you supporting the product on the field blindly (while saying I can't do a better job as your go to comeback) doesn't make you a bad fan. We just have different perspectives and I think we will be arguing till Kingdom Come on this. LOL.

Fwiw I watched a lot of games yesterday and you are correct - there were some bad ones by supposedly good teams, but I think those coaches don't have the same resume and body of work that ours has - his history is littered with games like this, it's a pattern, not a "one off" to just dismiss out of hand.

All that said, the Potential of this team this year and next is off the charts, there seems to be only one roadblock, and that is at the top.

In the end I think we are all fans and want what's best for the team, we just have different viewpoints.

it's about the process and development, especially with rent a wins like syracuse

we'e played 3 games, none against good opponents. in 2 of those games we were sloppy as hell which is negatively hurting our offense directly

we still haven't shown any improvement on our passing game whatsoever, and i mean all 3 phases: OL, QB, and WRs

on a secondary analysis, we're far too reliant on big plays. if we're going to play les ball, we need to show more efficiency in our drive sustaining. most people focus on the passing game in this regard, but our rushing game also stalls out sometimes and if we're going to rely solely on one side of an offense, that can't happen

defensively our issues aren't things we can change. depth on the DL and n our LB corps is going to be a killer. mills' injury (which is almost over) disrupted our secondary. we have 1 guy who can pass rush consistently, and he's a true frosh who isn't physically ready yet for 15 game and he will hit a wall. we're REALLY relying on the front 7 early and my only gripe is that our coaches need to manage the minutes better if we want them effective for later in the year

and our special teams are horrible

If Saban were our coach we would never have gotten those penalties!

I love you Saban!

Strange, I was expecting us to be sloppy at least during the first half. long trip east, New York, young kids. Just like when teams travel to Hawaii to play. they are almost always sloppy at first. no big deal. They took care of business in the second half. Harris threw some nice passes and LF is LF. Syracuse 5th string QB is best 5th string QB I have ever seen.

I brought this up yesterday. Seriously I don't think they pay attention. Every single team, top or not, has struggled this year with inferior opponents one way or another.
