If they were that important to that scheme then you have no choice but to change your scheme.

Im not sure it's that simple. Go back and watch Alexander on pass plays. he would start moving backwards as soon as the ball was snapped. by the time he engaged the defender he was right next to harris. And since he was moving backward the defender already had an edge when he rushed him. It was like that every play! I've never seen pass blocking like that. Maybe a couple of steps back to cut off an angle but then engage the defender! Same thing was happening with Hawkins. Was Alexander hurt also. Looked like he couldn't put pressure on his right leg.

I am not as upset with the losses but I am upset with how we are losing. We are getting totally dominated at the line of scrimmage. It's not even close. That is my concern.

Actually it starts with the O line. Our line has been dominated the last 2 games. Val Alexander could not block anyone last night and they talk about him playing on Sundays. I mean as soon as the ball was snapped he was jogging backwards so that when he finally engaged the D lineman he was right next to harris. never seen anything like that.
re: I'm going to defend Harris. Its about time someone did.

Not only that but our O line was pathetic in pass blocking the last 2 games. I mean PATHETIC!!

Yes, line could be better but there is also the need for harris to get more comfortable throwing from the pocket. Being able to sense the pressure and step up is something he is having to learn. The sack with the 3 man rush is a perfect example. That's why I want to throw more when we don't need to throw to give him the real game work he needs. He is progressing and once he figures that out we will really be dangerous but yes, line needs to get better in pass protection.

Strange, I was expecting us to be sloppy at least during the first half. long trip east, New York, young kids. Just like when teams travel to Hawaii to play. they are almost always sloppy at first. no big deal. They took care of business in the second half. Harris threw some nice passes and LF is LF. Syracuse 5th string QB is best 5th string QB I have ever seen.
