Miles said the game plan was "imperfect". What do you think he meant by this? Since he and Cam come up with the game plan is this a subtle admission on his part that he could have opened things up more?

I think it means what it means: the game plan was not perfect. It could have been better. However, we won a season/SEC opener on the road.

He means that looking back, he would have liked to have more balance. He knows they need more balance, but he also knows that the players kept the original game plan from working as designed. Miles is right that the original game plan was good enough for a comfortable win had the players not held and/or taunted (re: his comments on 200 yards not in the stats). In the moment, though, Cam felt more comfortable giving the ball to his heisman candidate running back.

It appears to me he means that some of the plays that were called and that they expected to have success with failed

Miles classified his game plan against MSU as “imperfect” rather than conservative. The Tigers stuck to the ground game as Harris threw only 14 times. “There were things we’d like to get accomplished that we called that didn’t get accomplished,” Miles said. “They key is not to change the offense, it’s to execute what we call.” He also lamented the Tigers’ nine penalties, four of which negated plays of 15 or more yards.

Just trying to appease the fans. Hatter's plan is working, and he's still grinning like the joker inside. He was lucky to get out with the W last Saturday night, but he didn't jeopardize Harris' future confidence. Probably made it better.

He will unshackle him soon enough. We'll probably see another run dominated game this Saturday, but by the time we play Bama, Harris will be honed, confident and ready, and I think (HOPE) Les will use him.
Harris will be twice the quarterback Mett ever was - wait and see.

Nothing shows confidence in a quarterback like being terrified he will shatter his confidence if you let him throw the ball.

Exactly. Other great coaches believe in their players and preparation. Remember when Urban Meyer held back JT Barrett and Cardale Jones to help their confidence or so he could unleash them at a later date?

That is loser mentality and why Leslie will always be an underachiever and LSU will never sniff another title. The only way we compete for actual titles is when the players outweigh Les's idiocy like Tyrann in 2011. The only hope here is that LF7 is so good he carries us.

No shite. What else is new.

Seriously, the first quarter was great. Fourth quarter, running into 10 in the box like a retard fricking a doornob.

Certain fans with deeper pockets who get to direct their complaints at more than just a message board.

One has to wonder what in a coach's mind is a "perfect" game plan.

I pretty much agree with this also - there's really no explaining CLM's philosophy. Just looking for a ray of sunshine to pump and I hope he's got more up his sleeve than a playbook with 6 plays.
Oh, and

Sorry game plan. Les is stuck in the 80's. Run-run run! Better play this week or we will hove our first Sec. lose.

I hope we hear from some of these posters downvoting every opinion.

Actually self criticism is one of the signs of a winner. I've never known a top executive that was ever satisfied with his or his company's performance. They find the weaknesses in any organization and work to correct them. No plan is ever "perfect" to the the top people in their field. Which is why they are high achievers.

Perhaps you don't understand because so little is expected of you. I have no doubt that you deliver.

It means that Miles recognizes the problem but still can't get over PTSD from 2008 and correct it.
