Bump for a related, but new discussion...

Superior completed my patio last week. Very pleased with the results. Now I'm putting a 48" tv out there and I'm looking for alternative solutions to mounting it rather than mounting it to the hardi plank. Anyone built anything free standing to mount theirs or does everyone just attach it to the house? I'm trying to get creative here.

If you have attic space above you can hang a pole mount from the ceiling.

Here is my lasted project. Added the patio and working on the fireplace right now. Pictured is just the internal kit. It will be bricked up around this when I have the time and no rain.

looking at doing a similar fireplace kit, which one did you go with? How hard was it to assemble?

Looks great

I believe it was $4700 for the whole job. I'd have to find the itemized break down that they gave me to tell what was the patio cover and what was the concrete.

I've seen this and I like it, but this is under an aluminum patio cover.

Here is the kit that I bought:

Firerock

It was really easy to put up other than the weight. The foundation was the biggest issue. It sucked. It goes about 3-4 ft below the base of the kit. My yard has a slope to it that had to be built up.

The fireplace will be around 7ft wide when done and a little over 9ft tall.

oh, that's the 42" model. It's pretty dang big.

Looking forward to seeing some pics. Be interested in the breakdown when you can find it as well. Thanks for the update.

I just mounted my TV over the weekend to studs with lag bolts behind the hardi plank. Missed the studs initially but used a small bit so I just filled it in and will paint eventually. It's behind the mount. If you can figure out where the studs are it should work

Those sun shades are great. We put one on our front porch and it really helps with the heat in summer. The one thing I don't get is how you folks in Louisiana don't screen your porches. I refused to sit outside in summer until we screened the porches. Between mosquitos and flies, it is maddening.

I win the award for the most white trash setup, but I use it a lot. The grill, smoker, Fish cooker and an outdoor sink are on the slab outside the porch.

I've got a treadmill in one corner.

And an exercise bike in the opposite one.

Tie those downspouts into some underground drains to that water source in the back.
