"i couldn't find a car selling at the price point i want." you've heard the dumb speaker who wants to sophisticated, i guess, use this redundant, useless term. i know i've read it here lots, especially on the food and drink board.

NO NO NO. why do you include the word point? useless. it adds nothing and makes you sound like a complete moron. a price is a point on a numerical line. you fool!

other stupid terms that need to be eliminated:
touch base
others?

The show House Hunters is rife with this term.

"Price-point" and "space" when used to describe a room drive me nuts.

And I've read the dumb post(er) that leaves out the word "sound" and doesn't understand what "redundant" means.

well if the price of x-widget is variable, then price point adds a variable to the term that has meaning and adds a great bit

Ironic that you complain how people talk; yet you can't put a single, coherent sentence together.

Price point is a legitimate term used between wholesalers and retailers so that there is a common value placed on a good relative to it's value to the consumer.

Common "price points" are industry specific but to industry insiders they are well known and accepted.

No it it is not. Price point is where demand curve is highest relative to the elasticity of the demand.
