Movies you knew you'd like immediately

I'd prefer to keep this out of sequel territory. More what I'm wondering is movies that start off just amazingly, and bonus points if you had no idea what they were about at the start. Here's some of my favorite openings from movies I had no idea about walking into it:
Children of Men
The Fellowship of the Ring
A Clockwork Orange
Inglourious Basterds
WALL-E
Up
The Naked Gun

Inglourious Basterds has one of the greatest openings ever. Agree on that one. I also loved Gone Girl. I knew that Fincher nailed the movie two minutes in, and I was pumped. I went into thst movie absolutely blind.
Edge of Tomorrow is another great one.
About Time is one for me. I just loved the movie from the start. I actually remember starting a thread on this board about how awesome I enjoyed the first half. I think part of me was worried it would somehow fall apart because it was too good for me to have never heard of. Turns out the second half just ups the ante.

Sunset Boulevard - Floating corpse pulls you right in
There Will Be Blood - Opening reminded me of 2001
Harvey - Stewart sweeps you off your feet immediately (no homo)
Enter the Void - Opens to a dizzying and realistic DMT trip
Saving Private Ryan - Opening blew me away when I saw it in 99

I taught it this summer in a class on Shakespeare and Film.
As one student put it, "When I see black and white, I immediately think, 'shoddy quality.' But this movie was surprisingly good".
