Anecdotally, I've heard no one speak of it nor seen anything in media. 14 years. Even if you're a freshman in college, the event impacted your youth. It was obviously a day that will live in infamy and one which impacted my life significantly. Still, seems like it's becoming just "history." Tomorrow is Friday; football is starting and kids have soccer games.

It seems like the first year, IMO, the date is minimally recognized so far. That's neither good or bad I suppose, but noteworthy nonetheless.

Without delving into politics and religion, let the day remind you to cherish your loved ones and live for the day because you never know. 9/10/01 there was meaningless game between the Broncos and Giants that people were excited for just like tonight, a regular day. You just never know. Remind those you love how much you love them and don't forget.

All the memorials/special reports/etc. are happening tomorrow. What is there to report on today? Nothing other than 9/11 anniversary is tomorrow.

I noticed this too

The feeling of overwhelming sadness I used to have on the week of the anniversary seems like it's dissipating

Will never forget though

No, people are too busy looking for reasons to get their feelings hurt.

I know that last year when I was working at OSS in NOLA I called in sick...

I know it wasn't a big target, but that's why it's unexpected. I wasn't going to be on the 43rd floor of the tallest building in the city on 9/11...

Thanks, hard pass though.

They were fricking 5 when it happened. No it didn't affect freshmen in college aside from the years of aftermath. They do not remember a play-by-play of that day as all of us do.

I always somberly remember 9/11, and that day really did change my overall opinion of the world and humanity at large. I was staying with my grandparents at the time and my parents were in Amsterdam. Their flight back to the US was scheduled for 9/12, but they weren't able to make it back until the end of September. Sorry, but that was the end of my innocence on the ignorance on how awful humanity can treat each other. Everyone should remember this day who was alive to see it.

Sad to say, but tomorrow will be the halfway point in my life since 9/11. I was 13 soon to be 14, and I will be 28 next month. Been living 14 years of pointless fear mongering, and it is sad.
