maybe.

they have weapons.

Virginia Tech's O doesn't though. So that made up for some of the OSU players sitting out.

Tech only stayed in the game b/c Ohio St messed up some in the 1st half.

We'd beat McNese state so bad I tell us.

Also If them Buckeyes played on PS4 the machine program would cover the spread by more than 4.

We could have been way better. VaTech should have only scored maybe 14 points. Miscues early on but hey its the first game of the season

4 starters out, including Joey Bosa and Jalin Marshall. They will make an immediate impact when they come back

I was impressed.

even giving elliot a small number of carries and committing 3 turnovers, they still managed damn near 600 yards of offense on the road in a hostile environment.

Absolutely. They put 42 on a top defense, and without three big offensive players. They also played pretty good on defense without the best player in the country.

Jones, Elliot and Miller are tye most deadly offensive trio in college football.

They pass the eyeball test in week 1 for sure

Not sure if OSU will maintain that unanimous #1 ranking for long, nor do I believe they will be the #1 seed in the playoffs, but they're pretty damn good. The rankings will be affected by the weak strength of schedule IMO, not because of a loss.

Yes and anyone who wasn't at least mildly impressed saw what he wants to. I don't envy any defense trying to stop them.

VaTech does have a good defense and Bud Foster is a proven coordinator. I think it would have been way worse if Jalin Marshall was plugged in for that offense

This may sound like im being a homer but Jalin is as talented as Braxton imo

Of course they're fricking good!

I don't really see a weakness except maybe on the OL, and I am just nitpicking.

Starting defense was to blame for one touchdown, gave up under 300 yards, dealt with three turnovers, and got two of their own. That's without Bosa. I'm fine with that and they'll get better.

I will say this tech lost momentum once their starting QB got hurt. If he doesn't get hurt it might be closer than what it was.

On defense, they are normally pretty good

By every conceivable statistic Bud Foster is one of the best defensive coordinators in college football. In 19 full seasons as the man in charge of the Lunchpail Defense, Foster's units have ranked in the top 15 nationally of total defense 12 times. Foster fielded elite units in 2014 and 2013. According to F/+, Football Outsiders' advanced and opponent adjusted college football ranking, the Hokies finished with the 3rd best defense in 2013, and is currently the 4th best nationally in 2014.

I'm impressed with any team that wins after the whooping the A&M laid on ASU's offensive line. #depressed
