I got a 9mm glock and looking to get a second piece. Never shot a revolver, but my friend will bring a 357 mag ruger to the range with us in a few weeks.
Anyone with a revolver they really like?

Ruger LCR in 9mm - you can shoot the same ammo.

Remember that the movies have it backwards. It's actually the revolver you hold sideways like a gangster.

Who are you going to shoot?

I've got a Colt .357 Trooper, .38 spl. Colt Cobra, Smith and Wesson Model 49, and Model 57 in .41 Mag.
Model 49 is pretty harsh to shoot but it is very concealable.
Colt Cobra is very fun to shoot and not as concealable but it holds 6 shots unlike Smith 38s.
Colt Trooper Mark III is also fun to shoot. I usually use this if I a bringing someone out who has never shot. It can shoot .38 spl. and is heavy so it doesn't kick as much.
Smith Model 57 is a hand cannon. Fun as frick to shoot but ammo is expensive.
The only one I bought new is my Smith Model 37. Everything else was used. If you are looking to purchase one, remember that the trigger pull is going to be heavier and always have a gunsmith look over a Colt. They get out of timing real easy. TBH, I like Colt but they are kinda finicky. If getting a new gun, I prefer Smith over Ruger just because I like the old revolver look. You can go to Smith and Wesson and look at their classic line of guns. I'd stay away from the alloy guns because they will not be fun to shoot. In fact they are painful. It will take some getting use to going from a Glock to a revolver because of the trigger pull is heavier.

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?
Coming from 9mm parabellum, you might want to start with a woman's caliber like the .357 magnum first, just to make sure your wrist holds up.

Ruger GP 100 is a tank. Too big to carry, but a nice shooting and affordable revolver,

Smith and Wesson .357 stainless 5 inch barrel

I have a .44 magnum that was gifted to me. Easily the best gun I have ever owned. Not just because of the stopping power. It's easy to clean and beyond reliable.

I personally like the S&W 686. The 500 is a fine gun too, but expensive to shoot

Some nice recommendations as I'm watching them on youtube. That S&W 686 is sweet. A lot of $$$ though.
Ruger GP100 .357 is nice too.
What are you guy's preference with barrel length?
This is purely to just keep at home and to enjoy at the range.
