Sounds like she was trying to force people to do whatever she wanted them to do. I don't care what your beliefs are, but you can't take a public office and choose what you want to consider legal and what is not.
That would be like a cop deciding not to arrest someone because he doesn't believe something is a crime, even though it is in face illegal. If you are that against it, get out of the job.
Now I don't see how they can arrest her, but they can surely strip her of her duties.

Every president in the last 200 years says "Hi"

Just that county or the state? Because if it stays at the county level, I don't know that she will get impeached. Even though she should.

Instead of arresting her why not just fire her? So stupid.
Posted on 9/3/15 at 2:07 pm to emanresu
Finally. She should have quit if she was incapable of doing her job.

I admire and support her stance for her faith and moral beliefs...however, she should have just resigned.

lol i hope she sticks firmly with her beliefs because that will mean she stays in jail for life
You're the second person I've seen mention life. Do you really believe she should spend the rest of her life in jail for something like this?

How long does it take to get impeached?
Posted on 9/3/15 at 2:16 pm to LSUtoOmaha
who knows
She'll either resign, be impeached and then removed from office, or she'll start issuing marriage licenses.
Then she'll get on Wingnut Welfare and collect all her martyr money with her new TLC show, 4 Husbands and Counting

If your office has the power to make laws, that's a different story. A president, congressman, etc. can do what they can to adjust the law to what they want. But if your office has no power to choose or change the laws, you have no leg to stand on.
And by strip of duties, I meant impeach. Seems like that's where they would be going with this, but I haven't really heard anything

Or she stays in jail and doesn't get impeached. Then still no marriage licenses

It's the equivalent of a parent telling a child they are in timeout until they can play nice and the child just staying in their room for the rest of their lives. It's so moronic

A stupid stance is still a stupid stance. She is getting what she deserves. The more she suffers the better. Right now she's thinking that she's being persecuted for being a Christian no she's being persecuted for being a dumbass

Slippery slope here. If we start incarcerating people for not doing their jobs, I could be looking at serious jail time. And I'd be willing to bet a lot of people posting here would too.
