Slippery slope here. If we start incarcerating people for not doing their jobs, I could be looking at serious jail time. And I'd be willing to bet a lot of people posting here would too.

There is a difference between jailing a forklift operator for taking a nap in the break room and jailing an elected official who took an oath to uphold the law and chose not to.

Looks like someone is unfamiliar with the forklift operator's oath.

Can you imagine the shite storm if her actions were based on the Quran. I am sure all the bible religious freedom types would be running to her defense.

Have you thought about the fact that when she took this oath the law did not conflict with her beliefs?
She is in fact probably upholding the will of the people that elected her instead of the opinion of a corrupt court.

This is why I hate when people use religion as a shield for being stupid. Im a Christian and think this chick should have either done her job or gone to jail.

I get this is used against her and all but do people know why she was divorced? It would be pretty shitty to make fun of this then it comes out she was abused by her first 3 husbands.

If she is refusing to issue licenses to everyone--which is what her attorneys likely advised her to do for this very reason--she's not discriminating based on sexual orientation.

Regardless of how she framed her actions under the advice of her attorney, I'd say she made her intent pretty well known when she talked about preserving the sanctity of marriage and all that other BS.

She was first married in 1984, when she was 18, and divorced a decade later, court records show. Five months after the marriage dissolved, she gave birth to twins by another man.

In 1996, she married again, and her new husband adopted the twins. They divorced in 2006.

The following year, she married the father of her twins. That third marriage lasted less than a year.

In 2009, Davis remarried her second husband, Joe Davis. They remain wed.

Then shouldn't all the elected officials in San Francisco and those other sanctuary cities be arrested for not following the law?

Again though, what are the reasons they divorced?

She should do her job or be replaced.

She is entitled to her opinion as long as it doesn't impact her job performance.

Why wasn't she simply dismissed?

I agree. Fire her if you want, but no reason to put her in jail.
