Looking for an interim "grail". Would like a Sub, but not in the budget for a while.

What do you guys think of the Tudor Black Bay?

I like it, but it seems a little pricey for an ETA 2824. Also, think the dial is awesome, but not sure I could stand a no date.

Other candidate is the Seiko Marinemaster (my 007 is one of my daily wears) or the less expensive options of the CW Trident, Squale 20 Atmos, also looking at a Nomos (I know, different than the others).

You can't go wrong with Tudor. It's a solid watch.

I prefer a watch with the date, but it's a nice watch for sure.

I like the Tudors but if you're spending $3K, just wait and get your grail.

For $500, look at the Steinhart Ocean One if you want something that looks like a sub with a date

I agree, if it had a date, I'd be all over it, I think

It's pricey, but there are far more pricey options using that same movement, so it isn't like it's out of the range of reasonable. Nice watch.

I agree, but $3k is a lot different than $6-$8. Plus, would be flipping the tudor at that point.

I do like some of the Steinharts tho. I am likely to stick with a watch in that range, honestly. I like my 007 a lot, but want something a little "nicer".

This. You could get a nice used sub for nearly that.

I hear ya. I want something nicer too but when it comes to me dropping $5-6K on something, I always back off it.
