I say this in every CC thread b/c most new people don't think about it. OB is probably tired of me mentioning it but oh well.
DO have the contact information for an attorney you can call 24/7 if you get involved in an event. Talk to that attorney beforehand to understand how to handle the immediate aftermath.
Also, DO honestly ask yourself if you are willing to shoot someone. That question is deeper than most people think it is.

If you do choose to carry, remember, a gun is not your most effective tool. What is between your ears is the most effective tool. Be smart and always attempt to de-escalate a situation; just because you have a gun, it doesn't mean that using it should be your first option. I would also look into purchasing CCW Safe, a membership based legal advice team if you ever get yourself into that kind of situation. They give you a lawyer and everything if it ever comes to it. It isnt more than $100 a year. Larry Vickers promotes it so I am certain it is a great investment.

Don't shoot yourself. You would be surprised. Some people forget this one.

Getting mine next month. Curious to see how class goes. Ive often heard you are held to a higher standard than the common folk. But with the way this world is headed I cant see a good reason not to get one.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting one.
I don't have a gun for it right now, but I don't like that I can't have a gun in my car in Alabama without it and I drive there a lot.

I would recommend getting a CC with a thumb safety. Learn to CC with it. Keep it if you like or later on get CC with no safety when you're ready.

The nice thing about it in some states is that with your license you can bypass the background check for new gun purchases and FFL transfers. Even if you don't carry this is worth it IMO.

I mainly want it for being able to keep a gun in my car in Alabama. There's some pretty suspect places out there that I have to drive through at night sometimes. I'm not sure if I would ever actually carry unless I bought another shield or something. I don't think wearing a gp100 around all day would last too long.

I got the shield 40 with the thumb safety. I love that damn thing and I love having it with me. I trust it very much

I was surprised to learn that it is completely legal to have an AR15 laying on the back seat of your vehicle in a school gun free zone. But apparently if you attend West Monroe High School the principal believes that a student can't have a Rebel flag sticker on their car.

Aim small miss small
Remember you aren't a cop w a CC so don't shoot people's dogs

Just did my class Saturday, very informative and worth it. Look up Reasonable Person test on you tube, this is your main defense mechanism if you are involved in a shooting. Escape or avoid, and having your CC doesn't make it legal to carry in a gun free zone.
