Tesla's Model S P85D is so good it broke Consumer Reports' rating system

How good is Tesla's Model S P85D? Insanely good, says Consumer Reports, with the electric sedan performing better than any other car the magazine has reviewed and breaking its rating system in the process. "The Tesla initially scored 103 in the Consumer Reports' Ratings system, which by definition doesn’t go past 100," said Consumer Reports. "The car set a new benchmark, so we had to make changes to our scoring to account for it." The P85D had to make do with a score of 100 instead.
Part of the reason for the record-breaking score is the P85D's "insane mode," which Tesla incorporated into the all-wheel-drive car to bring its acceleration up to the levels of the world's greatest supercars. As a result, the P85D was the fastest car ever tested by Consumer Reports, reaching 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. (Slightly faster times of 3.2 seconds have also been recorded.) There are other cars on the market that are faster, but Consumer Reports notes that because the P85D achieved these speeds while still being "ridiculously energy efficient" it earned itself the top score.
103 out of 100

You sound like a hippie

I suppose it should be pretty good since it cost > 100k

Tesla turned it up to 11.

But can it make it to Destin?????

Sounds like a fantastic car BUT it's expensive as hell & I have reservations on the long term reliability of these electrics & battery life. Consumer Reports have been total Tesla Homers recently.

Thinking about getting one, but need to hit that powerball first.

Really?!? How do you know whether these Tesla's will be reliable long term? Sure, less moving parts but a lot more complicated. Do you have any idea how much a battery swap would be?....Fracking outrageous.

Exactly...but with that being said, the batteries are only guaranteed for 8 years on the Tesla.
Not exactly apples to oranges, but Consumer Reports found Prius Batteries to be relatively unchanged after 200,000 miles. LINK

When solar panels become the paint and a certain device is added, its game over for internal combustion in cars.

They must have tested it before "Ludicrous" Mode was introduced.

the batteries are only guaranteed for 8 years on the Tesla.
But there's a reason for this. Tesla's first roadster was built in 2008... almost 8 years ago. Those batteries are still functioning at 85% capacity which is excellent retention.

GIVE ME THAT CAR.
Perfect for weekly driver to and from work and around town. We can take the wife's car on vacation.
I wish I had 100k to blow on a car though
