I don't see LSU's logo on prediction page. I see a tiger with the letters LSU below it but since that is not LSU's logo I don't know what college that is.

All of this means the same thing as being ranked #1 right now would, nothing.

You don't have to be an expert or a hater for that matter to suggest that we will struggle if we can't figure out how to incorporate an effective passing game into our offense.
If we don't it will be difficult to be a top 15 team.
Personally I believe we will with Harris but while I don't agree with the comments in that piece, they are fair.

"Auburn went 8-4 last year, is breaking in a new starting QB, and is almost unanimously picked to win the division."
AND may not have one of the best wr's in the country.
the beauty is this year that no one team returns enough to be said as the clear top team in the west. Or the SEC in general.
IF Jeremy Johnson produces, aub will be very good.
IF B Harris produces, LSU will be very good.
These numbnuts simply have to justify their paychecks.

They all leave room for themselves to change their mind though..........show me a passing game they say or a pass rush for them to buy...........
Well no shite...........show me where they need to improve and they will be better isn't being an expert.

Well to be fair, this is a true statement.
They all were true. Nothing helps a fan base build unrealistic expectations like closed practices and scrimmages. If LSU didn't have to play a game this year, this would be the greatest team EVER !!!!
The less people know, for some reason, the better the team is perceived to be.

It's asinine
Malzahn took a 1st year starting QB (Newton) and directed an offense that won the NC. He also took a 1st year starting QB who was previously a DB (Marshall) and played in the NC game. Last year AU went 8-4, but it wasn't all Marshall's fault. He had 20 TDs passing to 7 Ints. He also scored 11 TDs on the ground. Now they bring in a guy who has limited game experience, but in the one game he did start last season he performed pretty damn well against one of the SEC's "up and coming teams" this season, Arkansas. Johnson may not be turn out to be a great QB, but history tells us that Malzahn is going to get good play out of his QB and that they are going to score points. Defense is their biggest question mark
On the other hand, 5 out of the last 6 years LSU has struggled with QB play. Every year we hear Les say "next year is going to be different" when it comes to the passing game. Yet, recent history has shown that LSU's weak link year after year has been its passing game. Maybe (hopefully) that changes this season, but why should anyone EXPECT that to be the case?
Sorry, but AU gets the benefit of the doubt on the uncertainty at QB. Truth be told, the only reason people are picking them over Bama (if they are) is because AU gets UGA and Bama at home, while Bama is on the road at UGA and AU
Frankly, I don't give a shite what the predictions are for LSU because they have absolutely no bearing on how the season will play out. That said, if you want people to stop doubting your passing game, then fix your fricking passing game!

That's pretty brutal
Out of the 7 CBS guys:
- Nobody picked us 1st or 2nd in our division
- Only 2 picked us 3rd in our own division
- 4 picked us 5th or 6th in our own division
Texas A&M with highest variance, one guy picked them 2nd, another dead last. Actually Ole Miss is the same, picked 2nd by one and 7th by another.

Because #'s are on our side...

If we aren't better than last year, they are on point, mostly. But this ain't last year.

Exactly; The highest they were ranked was 3 in the west; average of 4. Not sure how they are being "overrated". Seems like the "experts" may need a class in basic english. But what do I know. Im no "expert". LSU Finished 1st in West, 1st in Conference!
Posted on 8/24/15 at 2:55 pm to The Truth 34
love it. don't blame them
Posted on 8/24/15 at 3:02 pm to chilge1
These "experts" all have an out if they are wrong. All they have to say is "I knew if LSU got good QB play, they would be a force."
Which would be right BTW.
Which would be right BTW.

quote:Those opinions are certainly stupid and wildly inconsistent with reality. Just about anyone ranked outside the top 10 is not likely to be most overrated. You don't need a lot at qb to be ranked 14th.
Those opinions are not that far-fetched or offensive if you try to look at the situation objectively.

Most overrated team: LSU. Show me that the Tigers have a consistent quarterback and then I'll buy into their preseason top 15 rankings.
Posted on 8/24/15 at 3:08 pm to The Truth 34
The one thing that every expert seems to gloss over is the fact that while LSU did struggle at quarterback last year the offense had a freshman running back and a highly inexperienced receiving corps. If there's even 20 percent growth at QB, coupled with the maturation of the other positions, this offense will be improved.
Maybe this team will flop like it seems many experts are predicting but there was far more uncertainty going into last season.

Les Miles had 10 games against Power Five competition in 2015 and won just one -- vs. Kentucky, at home -- by more than six points.
......what? This is laughable. Beyond laughable. How could they be so wrong??
Eta: read this wrong. Thought it said we only one 1 game against power 5 teams. I'm sorry.
