Supervising your own kids in your neighborhood

Do the kids in your neighborhood act like all of the yards belong to them?
There are two kids down the street, maybe 10 and 8, and they spend almost as much time in my yard as they do in their own, they play ball without permission in the front yard next door, they fish from the edge of another neighbor's property. They're not causing any trouble exactly but it does seem a little strange to me. Especially the lack of oversight from parents.
I can remember acting like this a little bit when I was a kid but that was 30 years ago and we lived in a different world. Plus my parents at least knew the people whose yards I was traipsing through all the time.
I don't want to be the stereotypical hey kids get off my lawn guy, but I bet on some level I'm responsible for them since they're on my property, no?
ETA: to be clear, I don't mind. I just don't want to be responsible for them.

i mean yes, but let it go. As long as they arent doing any harm. Its good to have a relationship with your neighbors and their kids. builds community.

Kids play in my yard too. As long as they don't break stuff or steal stuff, I'm glad they do. Kids don't play outside as much as they should these days anyway. Hell, if I had a lake in my yard, I'd be glad they were out there.
Same world today, you just know more about it. If they aren't hurting anything or breaking the law, let them be.

It seems innocent but you have to look at it from a liability point of view. Sure, the idea of young kids playing around in the neighborhood seems harmless until Little Johnny breaks his neck on your property and his shite parents sue you and wins.

All the kids on my street used to play football spanning across at least 4 or 5 front yards on my street. Far end driveways were endzones. Nobody gave a shite and it kept us busy outside. It's not a big deal dude, so don't make it into one.

I don't hover over my kids. They have had the run of the neighborhood since about age 7 or 8 with minimal supervision. We live in a good neighborhood. We know our neighbors and they know our kids.
I'm sure some people think we are horrible parents - like the ones who hover over their disrespectful, pussy kids. That, and the get-off-my-lawn crowd.

I was ok with it at first until a ten year boy tried to kiss my 8 year old daughter. Now nobody can play in my yard .

Pretty much. But I've got kids of my own as well. When they're not in school all the kids will play in my yard some then they'll go play in one of the other yards for a bit. Personally, I love pulling in from work to see my kids outside with all their friends getting to have fun and just be kids.

My kids and their friends tend to stick to their yards or the yards of their friends. As for supervision, my son is now 13 so we don't have to watch him like we use to. My youngest is only 7 though so she stays in our yards and if she's outside, we're outside as well.

As a kid we played in the neighbors yard if we were playing with the neighbors kids. Not just by ourselves! I do t personally want the neighbors kids here if they're not hanging out with/playing with my kids.
And I wouldn't want my kids playing at the neighbors (out or inside) without the neighbors kids!
