It's 2015, only shady businesses are cash only.
I probably will barely fish. Going to try to gig some flounder, catch some crabs and determine where I will anchor and drink beer for RTB.

Any live reports from the island today?

I gigged flounder until 1am and slept in, I dropped the ball.
Did manage to get 3 decent flounder but had to pass on a bunch of little ones.

3 flounder on the gig > 20 hardheads in the surf.

I'll probably try the surf in the morning if I don't go gig again tonight.

What's your plan for that tiny little bowl of ice?
Posted on 8/13/15 at 3:27 pm to RATeamWannabe
I'll be there around 2pm tomorrow. Supposed to be east wind all weekend.
Ready to anchor about 30 yds off beach and smash.
Hope the bull reds don't fck with me too bad

I had left my ziplocks....but then I quickly ran out of bowl.
I went throw a cast net for mullet at Elmers and the guy next to me had 5 dozen crabs in an hour. I was so catching some huge shrimp here and there.

When y'all get off the dirt road and hit the beach at Elmer's, do you head straight for the water near those metal barriers to Fourchon or do you follow the bay side a bit? Those are the two main paths and I don't know which is better when the sand is like it is.
Last weekend most people made straight towards the water and there was some carnage with people getting stuck.

I went the path to the left, it's got packed ruts for now. The spot straight along that pipe barrier is packed but not as well. Saw a few 2wd vehicles make it but they were spinning a little.

Sorry if I missed this... Are you gigging from the yak?

Who's pulling us out when we get stuck Sunday?
Posted on 8/13/15 at 4:26 pm to AutoYes_Clown
No, but I use the yak to access the spot.
Wasn't sure how a skrimp hoist pic should be.

You should be fine. When the road ends follow the hard pack to the right and just use the ruts to cross to the beach. I kept my truck in 2wd today just to see how it was and never had issues. All else fails I'll probably be around there throughout the day.
