Meat and cheese plates at home

Do you make them often? we probably do them every other week and eat on the assortment (getting fresh baguettes) about 3 or four days.
Mostly, we get our stuff from Martins/whole foods. ..the all star plate would be st. James/steins/La Boulangerie/Keife...if time permits.
This is a simple one...a French goat cheese/a really nice brie/Parisi an ham/gentile salami/willa jean/candied pecans

We do them probably once a month. It's one of my favorite things to eat. Meat, cheese, fruit (and nuts) bread, and wine.

We tend to over eat on them so we are trying to make them smaller. Nothing better than Rose/charcuterie/cheese/ and AC on a hot August Sunday

Occasionally, if the weather is nice. We call it Spec's on the deck.

It's one of my favorite things in the whole world, but I like seasonal fruit on the plate too. Melon and prosciutto, cherries and chèvre, sliced tart apples and an aged cheddar, pineapple and Gorgonzola dolce....I like a bit of sweet from time to time...honey, young pecorino, and walnuts, manchego and quince paste, a few dates or figs...

I've been craving a good meat and cheese tray. Would prefer something a little better than the basic ham and pepperoni trays at the grocery store.

I wouldn't say often, but I do make them. Trader Joe's has a decent selection of cheese for a good price, but most often, we do Whole Foods. They have a basket labeled "$5 and Under Cuts"--I personally call it the odds and ends basket. It is where they wrap small cuts of cheese left over from cutting and sell them for only a couple dollars.
It is a good way to try random cheeses that you'd probably never buy/notice on your own. Especially if you're like me and know zero about cheese.
I'd like to find more meats. I have a hard time finding a lot of that in BR.

Look into making a baked brie. The wife will throw that on our charcuterie/cheese plates from time to time.

Hey, I am a lover of your average cheddar/pepperjack/etc. cheese too!
Although I've paid $$$ for meat and cheese plates at some restaurants and that end up being what they do -- not cool. Restaurant IPO in Baton Rouge being on example.

We do this every Friday. Normally add celery and grapes and sometimes olives or pate'.
