I don't stay up that late so there's not much to miss. But he's done some great work over the years (which I see if he really hits a home run and it goes viral, like when CNN factchecked Saturday Night Live.)
I do wish he would stick around through November 2016. There's going to be plenty of good material for him to use.

The difference in political identification between the OT and PT is remarkable.

I will miss the funny. Jon's a funny guy.
I will not miss the Liberal Propaganda and the blatant dishonesty.
Every Socialist Revolution needs a Court Jester.
We got Jon Stewart.
Jon Stewart is like Time Magazine.Really uniformed people think it's the last word.

Not really. He is too smug and sanctimonious to be funny. Now the Colbert Report....I still miss that show. That was such a brilliant character.

Yes. He is the best at pointing out when Republicans say shite that is 100% opposite what they said in the past.

I won't miss his interview strategy:
Guest he agrees with - softball questions, let them speak in complete sentences, after they finish speaking make a comment
Guest he disagrees with - interrupt every 3 words, attempt to discredit guest with snark before guest gets complete thought out, dig deep looking for hypocrisy

I haven't watched the daily show consistently since high school, so no.

Is he dead?
If not, no
If so, still no
It's ok to say that unless he's a lion

Yes. But just barely. I think he was a net positive for our media/political discourse.

I've never watched his show but he was annoying enough in the commercials for it
Posted on 8/1/15 at 9:31 am to ItzMe1972
Yes, but not nearly as much as Colbert.

Nothing against John Stewart but John Oliver's show is waaaayyyyy better and will be a fine replacement. Having one show a week appears to make the quality much more consistent.

I used to watch the show every night, but as he gradually became a left wing stooge, I lost interest. I'm not a right winger, but I hate being told what to think by people who think the pinnacle of human achievement is being on TV.
