As it stands, once you are eligible to vote for the Hall of Fame, you get that vote for life, which means that a great many voters who are no longer covering baseball — including many who never really covered baseball in a meaningful way — get a vote

Hall of Fame decides BBWAA members more than 10 years removed from actively covering the game can no longer vote for Hall of Fame.

Does this mean Bonds will be in the Hall now?

It means (imo) a lot more players get in from here on out

Let them all in. It's not really fair that some players get in and some don't.
They're all trying just as hard. They should all get in.

IMO you let them all in or none of them in
Right now none of the steroid era players are being voted in which is fine I have no issue with that. But if you vote in one, you have to vote in all the rest.
So if someone like David Ortiz gets voted in, and Bonds/Clemens/McGwire and all the rest are still not in the hall, it destroys the credibility of the hall.
The moment the first steroid linked player gets in is when all the steroid era players with HOF worthy credentials MUST be voted in as well.

It's perfectly legitimate to leave out steroid guys based on the morality clause in the voting criteria. But it's up to the individual voter how to interpret that. Some voters, like Ken Rosenthal, aren't voting for steroid guys right now but haven't ruled out voting for them in the future. He just doesn't feel comfortable doing that right now and that's his prerogative. Myself, I wouldn't vote for proven PED guys but I couldn't hold it against a player if he's just a suspected PED user.

WOO HOO!
A voting change that actually makes sense! It's a Christmas miracle! Getting rid of some of the angry Boomers off of the BBWAA voting rolls will help deal with the back log of candidates.

If you ever actually visit the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown you'll wonder why people are clamoring to get into that shite-hole.
