Why can't cops just taze and pepper spray people anymore or use non-lethal rounds?
They save those non-lethal measures for the white people because of privilege and whatnot.

Am I the only one who is entertained by the thought that those in the "comply or die" crowd are most likely to have grown up opposing Communism, and proud to be a part of "the free world"? They win the Cold War only to support their very own Stasi.

no,again i did not. People were saying speeding is breaking the law and that you could get shot because you are speeding. I argued that felony evading is quite a bit more severe charge than speeding and actually linked it up. What is so hard to understand?

Copy and paste from a post I made in the poliboard thread:
He started the car, the cop reached in to stop him, he shifted into drive while they were struggling, and the cop drew and fired. The vehicle takes off, and the cop is knocked to the ground.
Watch it again if you don't believe me.
Video, starting from when the cop opens the car door.

I don't get why the cop shot him. I mean, the guy was shady and nervous as frick but that don't mean you just put a bullet in him. Driving off isn't worth killing people for and it didn't seem like he was speeding off.

Yes very different attitude than Sandra Bland. That girl had a smart arse mouth. This guy seemed calmed.

This cop was calm, too. Even after the guy shut the door on him, the cop says, really pretty gently,"Take your seatbelt off for me," and then the guy starts the car. That was when things escalated.

why not put the Update in the OP rather than making people look for it?

those instances aren't as common as cop shootings. 655 have died this year by police force, how many police died in the line of duty in the same time frame?

When did I ever say the LEO used proper force?
All I said was the guy is dead because he didn't listen to the LEO, making his death his fault.
Are you shitting me? So because someone does not comply with a cop it's their own fault when that cop decides to execute them on the side of the road? You can't be serious, no way.

Thats exactly what I'm saying. The guy didn't comply and got shot. Yes, we can all agree it was excessive force, however it is his own fault that ANY force had to be used.

655 in a country of 360,000,000.
.000182%
Nothing at all to worry about if you're a law abiding citizen and comply with instructions.

This man should not have died, but I hate that people continue to disobey cops.
If the dude had not been shot, the guy would have been booked on at least failure to have front plate, driving without a license, officer endangerment, resisting arrest, fleeing...what possesses a person to think it is ok to drive off from a cop giving you orders?

He should absolutely be alive. I'm not letting the cop off for that. I'm also not letting him off for it, either. Both have blame, but if I'm honest, I think the guy has more blame than the cop does.

You must exit the vehicle if requested to do so by police. This is firm case law from the SCOTUS. He also had an open container, which is grounds for arrest. So yes he was well within his rights to order him out of the car on multiple levels.
I agree with you 100%. But what he didn't have the right to do was put his gun to the guy's head and blow his brains out the other side.
