So did the guy have a suspended license? If so, why? Why was he driving? If it wasn't suspended, why not give the cop your license or come right out and tell him that you left it at home?
Why did he shut the door on the cop? Why was he trying to start the car? To run? Why run if you're some innocent person?
See, if the dumb frick had just been following the LAW to begin with, he'd still be alive.
Cop deserves charges, but the dead fellow started the whole chain of events by not being the citizen that is expected of all of us.

BTW- we lead the world in both police killings and prison population. Think about that for a moment. China and North Korea kill and imprison less people than we do. You don't see a problem. Makes sense.

Citizens who don't know how to practice good citizenship and fail to comply to instructions from an officer - I won't shed a tear.
The guy had 13 kids (that the taxpayers are no doubt supporting) and had served prison time - a regular fkin Ward Cleaver.
