Legal Advice - Rental Home - Tenant Changed Floors now wants Money

I rented a house to a lady for about 6 months.
She expressed she wanted new floors in the home. She wanted hardwood in the living, kitchen, hall and bathrooms. New carpet in the bedrooms.
I explained I did not have the money for new floors. She assured me she would take care of it. I was reluctant to let her do it but she pulled the trigger and got it done.
A couples months after (yes I know I am TPOS) I decided I wanted to sell the house. We did not have a lease so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal. The floors were not the reason for wanting to sell. I was ready for a new house and the market to sell my first home was just too good to pass up.
She told me she wanted to be compensated for the floors and I told her "well, when I sell the house, I will see about it."
We never agreed to me paying for new floors and there is no contract that says I would pay her back.
So, what can she get out of me? She has now threatened to contact an attorney in attempt to get her money for the floors.
There were a few text that discussed the possibility of me paying her back but never for sure agreeing to paying her back.
What does the OT say? Do I need to get ready to pay for these floors or is she shite out of luck?

I don't know what you owe her legally, but if the new floors increased the value of the home and you gave her the boot a few months later, you should be a decent person and compensate her some. I'm sure she wouldn't have paid for the flooring if she knew she would have to move again in a few months.

She sounds shite out of luck but it may be cheaper to pay her vs having a legal battle.
Also, you sound like a piece of shite saying "we'll see about it" then reneging on that.
If it adds value and marketability to your house (which it will) I think you should work it out with her.

I've made improvements to home I've rented but got permission first. Was always able to deduct from rent. Landlord usually happy because it saved him time and money.

I have a hard time understanding how you believe you shouldn't reimburse her for the cost of the floors.
Had she replaced them and 10 years down the road the house was sold...that would be one thing. But months later and after you told her "we'll see" about reimbursement...just pay up.
This inevitably aided in the marketability of your home by improving the flooring, otherwise you wouldn't have let her do it.

Most judges will shove this straight up your arse for this "shrewd" move on a tenant.

I would pay her because I'm not a dick. She could sue you and make you spend money on legal fees to defend yourself. Have you asked her how much she wants? Much cheaper to settle than fighting in court.
