I don't see how the up tempo offense isn't the future of football. In five+ seasons from now, how many possible pro style, acceptable coaches could there really be to choose from?
How many spread guys were there 15 years ago. You fell victim to a common logic fallacy: you thought you were standing at the end of times. You're not.

If he retires five seasons from now and college football is still hanging on to the up tempo style offense, do you see LSU going for a Gus or Sumlin (Offense) or a Muschamp (Defense) style coach?
Depends on who our AD is at the time. Can you honestly see Alleva lasting 5 more years? FWIW, I'd be a firm supporter of Les transitioning into the AD's office once he no longer desires to be the HC.

If Miles does retire in 5 years I can see LSU handing the job over to Frank Wilson. Wilson would probably open up the offense a little bit but it would still be run first.

Holy run-on sentence Batman! Good thing you are a broadcaster and not running the teleprompter.

Like it or not, Wilson probably won't be at this program for very long [Most likely will rideout with LF7]. Which means LSU will see a slight dip in the talent it pulls.

You make it sound like it's blasphemy for guys to promote within the program.
I was pointing out the fact that you make it sound like FW's job isn't critical to the program. When it absolutely is.

we're just handing over the job to a guy that has never been a head coach, much less an offensive coordinator?

I understand that but promote him to OC before you make him HC

he probably would make a better AD than HC... he does have an economics degree from michigan... but i would imagine that ol' leslie is going to get some cushy ESPN job when he retires, the guy is a walking gaff machine, and people love him for it, even non-LSU fans... i think Leslie and LSU would both prefer a former head coach on ESPN, because it raises the profile of the school.

i agree... frank is going to have to go to some smaller school for a few years and learn how to be an OC, then come back and be LSU's OC... then he would have to do the same process as head coach... all in all, you're talking about somewhere around ten years before frank is ready to be a head coach at a place like LSU

Exhibit A. When all else fails, people with low IQ's resort to name calling.
