That's the thing that always gets me. If someone is willing to commit the ultimate crime, how would a less-punishing-than-murder gun crime make them say "you know what, I'm not going to murder those people, because I could get in real trouble for having this gun"?

People act as if gun accessibility is the tipping point in the decision process for these people:
"I was going to kill people today, but I couldn't get my hands on any guns, so I just hung out in the park instead."
If all guns were banned, this story would have read "4 Marines dead after being run over by Muslim in a car".
