Bijou's his name right? Had forgotten about that name for a dog. Have know a couple others.

Yall know where that name came from? That's not the Cajun French word / name I've heard / used for dog. It's not even close if I remember correctly.

Cajun is chien.

my female full grown was 28-30#. My current male at 1.5 yo is around 39#. Really just depends on the parents and the status within the litter (ie biggest or runt).

Larry, who was the breeder. I really like the look and size. I will have another relatively soon.

Larry, looks like a woman's dog in all those flowers. That thing hints or just cuddles?

Breeder was Greg Copeland with Texas trace in Hempstead, Tx. I was on a waiting list for 8 months to get him, females are longer wait as I understand - Greg is the only breeder in Houston area. I think he had 2 litters of 11 pups back to back that really cleared his waiting list though.

Guy is interesting to say the least. You have to go for an interview before he'll let you put down a deposit. Based on your personality, what you plan to use the dog for, preferred sex, etc, he picks your dog for you based on fit. Sounds crazy, he literally decides 2 days before the take home date, but everyone I know that has gotten a dog from him has been satisfied.

He has a big male named Midnight -48 lbs solid muscle, my dogs grand sire.

To the flowers comment- just the most recent pic I have of him, dog is bird crazy and doing very well at the trainer.

I just found out about these dogs. Been looking for another retreiver/blood dog since I lost my lab a few years ago but didnt really want another 85 lb lab. Buddy told me about these dogs.

Just a matter of time before i pull the trigger.

My labkin weighs in at 40 lbs. About two years old. Loves the water. shite arse hit my pond no less then 5 times a day. He is also a diver dog. Funny as shite to see him swim under water to retrieve. Only problem I have with him is that he thinks it's all about him. Alfa male for sure that is wide open all day.

Don't have any update pictures, but he looks just like a boykin, but with shorty hair.
