There's prolly a 50% chance Durant is even Durant

That article is effing retarded.
Come on.
Clippers won't be a factor.
Its OKC with by far the largest chance, then Washington, then a lot of other teams all clustered together.

but then again, as the case with almost everything that includes free agents in the NBA, money is a factor, and there is no clue if Durant wants a maximum contract or not.

Me. Because anyone outside of the 504 would rank us at best 3rd on that list.
So everyone and their mother downvoted this and then everyone went on to agree with it. Makes sense.

Who even put Washington in the list? Some ESPN journalist who, just wrote some story on it? Cuz they all knowing. I am pretty sure I read somewhere that KD has no care weather he plays at home or not he cares about championships..
I will give you OKC, but only if Westbrook stays. I dont see that happening.

If playing near home is so important, he probably would have chosen Georgetown over Tejas.

Personally I can't see him leaving OKC to go another small market when teams like the Clippers and Heat come calling.
He's not going to care about market, he's going to care about winning, and he might care about reclaiming his "heir to the throne" #2 player in the world status. I'm not sure if that helps or hurts the Pelicans. On the one hand, AD's youth, personality, and playing style would allow KD to be the top dog, on the other hand, does playing with AD possibly diminish you/elevate him in ways that playing with other players might not?

I'd say the teams that would actually be considered by KD would be OKC, Washington, Lakers, Houston, and maybe one other team.
And before you call me a homer for putting Houston in there... they have Harden, who is one of Durant's bros.
And you know Morey's plan is to go hard after Durant.

To that respect, I would say that both AD and KD are the type of players that would work well together and not really care who is top dog or not.

Washington will make a strong case because: 1) Wall, Beal, KD, Gortat, and Nene is an AWESOME lineup and 2) Hometown.
OKC will make a strong case because if KD and Westbrook have a strong showing this year and make a deep playoff run, then they will want to stick it out.

KD isn't going to play with another ball dominant player after GOATbrook. That is a given.
OKC/WAS
The rest.

Can someone, ANYONE tell me why the freaking lakers are considered a designation? They have a bunch of young unproven guys. For a guy who wants to win, he's going to a playoff/championship caliber team.
Washington - playoffs, home and they have a solid core
Houston - playoffs, great core
GS - playoffs, just won a championship, they too have a badass core
OKC - playoffs, team that he's always played for, blah blah blah. Trying to build him a strong team
NOLA - playoffs, young superstar teammate
LAL - no playoffs, bunch of young guys, bad coach

Are rings more important to both? Yes. If KD thought a situation gave him an equal chance at rings and better chance at being considered the best player on the planet would he go for the individual glory too? Why wouldn't he if all else is equal? AD is still pissed that Curry beat him out for the Citizenship Award. Being a team first guy doesn't mean you don't want to hear the crowd chanting MVP.

DC why? Cuz he grew up there
That is a factor, but you also have to consider that if he were to leave he'd want someone opposite Westbrook. As much as people knock Wall, he is a good passing G & was 2nd in assists this year.

Durant wants to win championships and play in prime time and in the playoffs, he aint coming to the pels

quote:I would say you are being extremely biased. I think we have a shot, but to assume we are one of the top destinations at this point is wishful thinking at best. Now, if we go out and have a fantastic year (i.e. top 4 in the west and more than one round in playoffs) and another player (Tyreke or Jrue) shows significant improvement, I think we become much more attractive. I am not sure we can simply assume that since AD plays here, it makes us a favorite to land him. We thought that for years with CP3.
Like i said I get I am biased but at the same time, give me a compelling argument that makes us not a place to come play basketball. I don't know where he will end up but I believe we have just as good a shot as any team. If not a better shot.

Yeah, because a combo of KD/AD wouldn't be a contender
