Pretty much. Unless the defense is 2013 bad then it won't matter how good the offense is.

A shoe in on a very good to great season yeah. We haven't had a complete team in a good while. If the QB position isn't a concern we would have the most complete team we've had in a while

I wouldn't say so. We have a lot of question marks at key positions. New DC, DE, QB still a big?, other SEC west schools getting better. I'm excited about football season of course but a little nervous

Of course not. But a good QB almost certainly makes us a national contender, a team that at least finishes in the top 10 at the end of the season. Something we haven't done since 2011.

New DC, the jury will be out. Unlike some, I think we downgraded with Steele.

we do need good QB play, but also a good offense scheme and play calling to go along with it to make the offense run on all cylinders. But along with a good offense we also need the defense to have a great year. With a good offense and a good defense combined with good offense coaching/modern offense/play calling and good defense coaching/strategy we have a good chance to be in the hunt for a succesfull season and a shot at the SEC title and possibly a NC.
As far as the Lee/Jefferson argument. Can't we all just put that behind us. Both Lee and Jefferson were pretty good QB's their senior seasons with Jefferson probably holding up better against the stronger harder hitting defenses and Lee shining when he had less pressure on him against some pretty good defenses also. Either way both were huge and vital assests to the championship run we made that season and will be remembered fondly by the LSU faithfull. They both gave it their all for LSU and should be held in high esteem by the true purple and gold fans.
