Are we looking at a potential decision between keeping Ryno OR EG?

both free agents, EG shot lights out from 3, ryno dropped a bit, ryno more of a volume shooter, does a stretch 4 that shoots a bit less 3% more valuable than a 2 than shoots a bit higher? Doubt we can resign both, are we using this year as a judge to who's more valuable for our future?

All things equal, I'd rather bring back EG. He's a far more well-rounded player and isn't a backup by default.

We'll have to use this year as a judge. Too many questions remaining..
Can EG stay (relatively) healthy again this year? Can he keep up his 3 point shooting (44%) from last year?
Can Ryno stay healthy? Was last years miserable shooting (34%) a fluke?
I think gentry will get us more spot up threes, so if EG keeps knocking those down at a high clip I think we'll keep EG. Other than spot up shooting, all ryno offers is the occasional iso fadeaway which is a very inefficient shot. Theoretically we could keep both with the cap spike, but we'll probably have to pay a premium on them which means we shouldn't want to keep both.

Ryno has trade value, EG may have some later in the season as an expiring. If EG is looking for anywhere near what he made on his last deal I wouldn't even make an offer.
I doubt either of these guys gets moved before the trade deadline, If neither get moved IMO Demps will look elsewhere before rushing to sign either one next summer.

Keep EG. He brings more to the team

If EG is healthy, I'd rather him back simply because I'd rather spend money on someone who will be on the floor to close games. Also, while his D isn't very good, at least you don't have to hide him.
Stuckey got 3/21, that is right in line with what EG will command.
Adios to both if we can get a max guy, though.

Zach Lowe put him in the group of guys that will get paid because the market's thin.

There will be more star-level salary slots next summer under the $90 million cap than star free agents.
That is very good news for Jeff Green, Luol Deng, Eric Gordon, Nic Batum, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, DeMar DeRozan, Chandler Parsons, and other third-banana types. These guys are going to get paid. DeRozan and Parsons hold player options for 2016-17, and the best intel is that both will opt out to secure longer-term deals based on the higher cap.

Has to be healthy first. Has not been healthy since his rookie year.

You say that as someone that's been burned multiple times by his injuries. But to a GM that's never experienced Eric Gordon and is sitting on a pile of cap space and nobody to fill it. there are things he can say to convince himself it's worth it. Gordon hasn't had knee issues in 2 years, and there is no chronic condition other than "injury prone" (he played fine with the torn labrum). It only takes one a-hole as we've seen before with Gordon.

History indicates that he'll play 50-60 games.
If there is a GM that pays him much more than 7ish a year, I just hope said GM is not Dell Demps.

I would be surprised if either were on the 2016-17 team personally

assuming both have a healthy year, both are pretty highly rated free agents, to expect us to get better talent back is a bit wishful thinking.

Just took another look at the 2016 FAs. Not all that great. Could easily see Demps trading EG at the deadline instead of making a run at KD.

It might not just be about better talent, but better fitting talent.
Pels want more length on the wing than Gordon can offer and more defense and playmaking ability/defensive rebounding than Ryno can offer.
I think that ideally they use their contracts or cap space to get a star, but if they can't, they settle for similarly talented guys who just fit better

I wouldn't be surprised if neither one of these guys were in the roster after this season.

I agree that neither will be re signed after this year
my guess is that Anderson nets something useful back and Gordon is allowed to walk

we should trade ryno to spurs, they are getting a bit PF thin.

since we just resigned Asik, no way Ryan stays. He doesn't fit.
Gordon's game is evolving, and is a better defender that he gets credit for.

I trade Gordon. We aren't keeping neither long term but Ryan brings us a element to play more versatile line ups. As with Gordon we already had a sg that better than him in Tyreke and a shooter with Quincy.
